Salinas /səˈliːnəs/ is the county seat and largest municipality of Monterey County, California. Salinas is an urban area located just outside the southern portion of the Greater Bay Area and 10 miles (16 km) east-southeast of the mouth of the Salinas River. The population was 157,218 as of 2016. The city is located at the mouth of the Salinas Valley roughly eight miles from the Pacific Ocean and has a climate more influenced by the ocean than the hot-summer interior. The majority of residents live in single-unit detached homes, built between 1950 and 2000, while one third of the housing stock has three or more units per structure. Salinas serves as the main business, governmental and industrial center of the region. The marine climate is ideal for the floral industry, grape vineyards, and vegetable growers. Salinas is known for its vibrant and large agriculture industry and being "The Salad Bowl of the World" as the hometown of writer and Nobel Prize in Literature laureate John Steinbeck, who based several of his novels there.

Just what we expected from a family-owned restaurant. Service prompt accommodating and polite, varied menu with reasonable prices. Noodle soup was yummy as was lemon chicken. Would definitely eat here again for lunch or dinner.
Stopped into this chain restaurant and found it to be not as good as other Panda Express restaurants that I have visited. It did not appear that the restaurant is very well managed and the employees seemed to have the attitude that they would much rather be somewhere else. Food was just ok. Not what I am used to from a Panda Express Restaurant.

Salinas has many Chinese restaurants but for our money this is the best, We have been stopping here for dinner for many years when we travel south on highway 101. Two years ago new owners bought the restaurant and changed the name to Golden China, We were concerned that it might not be as good. To our delight it was even better!! The Wor Wonton soup is loaded with shrimp, bbq pork, flavorful wontons and fresh vegetables in a tasty chicken broth. It's a meal in itself but we also ordered cashew chicken with steamed rice. The flavor was good and they did not scrimp on the cashews. If you prefer hot and spicy Schezwan style dishes they have some but for the most part their food is milder but NOT bland.

An excellent place in the Central Coast for Dim Sum any day. Order from a picture menu which offers other options too. We have dined here several times since it opened in 2016. For my family of 4 adults our bill ranges from 60 - 90 dollars a visit, but well worth it for good dim sum outside of San Francisco with attentive staff.

A decent place for good Chinese food. The service is usually good. The restaurant can get noisy but it's family friendly (bring the kids). The food is served promptly, warm and well-seasoned. The servers are friendly and welcoming.Decent parking and large, spacious waiting area/lobby. Usually can get seated right away though.
When they brought the soup I knew it was going to be good. It was the best won ton soup I've ever had. We bought the dinner for 3 and had so much food. Excellent service and very good food. It happened to be a warm day in Salinas so it was a little warm where we were sitting. They turned on the fan after they saw me fanning myself. It was a busy dinner night. Another patron informed us that the restaurant recently re-opened. They had another cook for a while but that cook wasn't as good. The good cook is back--I'm so glad. There are tables and chairs and also bench style seating--very casual. A lot of people were picking up take out. Prices were very reasonable. Park in back; the restaurant faces directly on Main Street. A new favorite!

This establishment has a good selection of teas and a nice atmosphere to enjoy them at the 'tea bar'. The owner is very knowledgeable about the product, however, while she was not outright rude, she was not very welcoming. I'm giving this place an average rating because of that. Probably won't go back. Thank you Trish, I am sorry that you did not have a good experience here at Gold Leaf Spice & Teas. Terri MadridOwner

Great value all-you-can-eat-buffet which included a variety of seafood dishes including fried king prawns, baked green mussels, steamed oysters, boiled spider crab legs, small baked cheese scallops and a selection of sushi. Also the usual Chinese starter and main dishes which I tend to avoid. But I ate some veg dishes to up my intake as always difficult to eat enough vegetables when travelling. Fruit & desserts were so-so. A cook also manned a teppanyaki noodles station - you choose the ingredients from a counter eg. prawns/salad/noodles and he cooks them on a hot plate to order. All this for $13 per person! Soft drinks $1.50, not sure about alcohol. We went at 7.30pm on a Sunday night and got a table for 2 straightaway. Casual seating and as expected in this type of cheap high turnover eatery, tables and floors showed signs of food debris and stickiness by the end of the night. Food was tasty and hot, regularly replenished. Highly flavoured and not exactly healthy but ok as long as you don't eat like this regularly.Overall a good value for money choice if you don't mind the mass consumption experience, a reasonable trade off for lits of tasty seafood at a bargain price.

A great Restaurant with no MSG added. The sweet items (like Sweet and sour pork, or orange chicken) are just the right balance of sweet and spicy. Easily the best Chinese food in Salinas.
Eagle doesn't bring you in because the restaurant front is dynamic or attractive. Inside doesn't draw the eye particularly either, but the food here is very much worth seeking out. Extensive menu. Great selection of appetizers and entrees. Fast efficient service. Will definitely return.
