A#1 has been our standby Chinese for years and years. We put up with the awkward parking by KFC because it was so good. We ordered our usual tonight on the way home from a trip--a pint of pork fried rice with veg, the same without veg and a Colonel Tso's chicken meal with which you get an egg roll. The egg roll was great. All else was close to inedible. The fried rices had NO flavor and very little pork. The chicken dish was far worse--it inexplicably had no sweetness and had more veg and peanuts (??) than chicken. In fact, it had no taste. Both of these dishes used to be flavorful. Perhaps the restaurant has changed hands in the last year? I heartily recommend you go elsewhere for flavorful Chinese take out.

There is nothing to get excited about here. The food tastes bland and less than what one would expect.

Nothing like China Town, but exactly like you will find in every city in America. This place does a great buffet during the week for under $10. Egg rolls, spring rolls, Crab Ragoons, Gen Tso chiken, chicken fingers, lo mean, fried rice, chow mein, broccoli etc....The desserts are odd...fruit and jello, but the quality of the food is good and they cook it in small portions so you don't find a sticky mess that has been sitting in a warming tray for hours. Check ahead, as they seem to close on odd days. But if you are doing asian cuisine in Rutland, this is one of the better ones.

Ate dinner here with my daughter on a Wednesday night. The decor looks like the restaurant has been little changed since the 1950s. The food, on the other hand is modern and excellent. There are all the standards, yes, but also thai curries and some interesting vegetarian dishes. We shared sesame bean curd and thai fried rice. Both were prepared well and very flavorful. Pricing was very reasonable. We will be back.

I went to this restaurant for lunch to get something on the take out menu. I found it odd that they have no combination plates and everything has to be purchased individually it ended up costing over $20 to get LoMein and General Tso's chicken. The food was very tasty but this restaurant fell short on any kind of value. I am going to try other restaurants of the same type in this area, to see if I can get my options on a combination plate instead of purchasing everything individually

I was seated right away and served both ice water and hot tea along with the menu. I had mala chicken and steamed rice which was good, but not sensational. My server checked on me often, while remaining unobtrusive. Iâd return when Iâm back this way
