I not an expert of Chinese food but, I know what I like. We recently stopped for lunch. As usual, the restaurant was busy. There were several Chinese people having noodle dishes. Thatâs a good sign. Our waitress was cordial and helpful when we had questions about the food. We had a rice noodle dish, chicken and mushrooms and soup. Everything was hot. Problem? The food was blah. No zip at all very flat tasting. I also thought portions were small compared to other Chinese restaurants weâve been to before in Connecticut and other states. I would go back but, I think We will stick with noodles dishes next time.
This is a small take out restaurant in back of the Post Road CVS in Orange. It is family run. All of the food is freshly prepared and usually ready in 10-15 minutes. They have a rather extensive menu that is sure to please just about everyone. There are 3-4 tables available to eat in if you want (nothing fancy). Friendly courteous service and substitutions within reason. The chicken wings are very crisp and tasty with special seasoning. House Special Mai Fun is chock full of meat, shrimp and flavor. My husband is partial to the Chicken in black bean sauce. And I like their hot and sour soup. They also have combo dinners that are in the $8 to $11 range.

We have travelled fairly extensively in China, including in Shandong Province from where this type of cooking originates. We began with an order of pork soup dumplings, clearly handmade and balanced perfectly between filling and wrappers. They came with a dipping sauce that was almost unnecessary because the dumplings themselves were so flavorful.Eggplant in garlic sauce is a different experience here than what you will find in most other Chinese cooking: The sauce was light and delicious and the eggplant cooked to sweet perfection. Our waitress got happily excited when we ordered a whole sweet and sour sea bassâthere were just two of usâbut it was addictive. The fish itself was absolutely fresh and the sauce was happily without the usual loads of sugar and cornstarch. OMG, I can't wait to eat that again!Everything is cooked to orderâso be patient. Also, expect to pay a bit more because of the cooking and the clear up-market sourcing of the ingredients. We will definitely go back!!!!

Just off I-95 between NYC and Boston you will find incredibly delicious Taiwanese-style Chinese food that qualifies as very authentic. American-style Chinese diners will find plenty to enjoy! Those who want authentic have arrived at the right place. Try the "Lion's Head" or "Salt and Pepper Pork Ribs" or "Dry-Fried Green Beans" or the incredibly tasty "Fried Flounder with Mustard Green." Everything is delicious! You cannot go wrong at Iron Chef!

I must say I am still hanging about the Hibachi. They've redone the rest rooms (which have never returned to the sorry state they were in a couple of years back) and have their Orange cleanliness "A" rating posted proudly. Still disappointed they don't have the regular egg drop soup at dinnertime, but it is still the only place I can pick and choose non-carb, paleo, vegetarian or whatever items I need at the time and as I have the hibachi food cooked without sauce or margarine I know exactly what goes into it and how it's prepared. Can't do that anywhere else, really - at least not for under ten bucks.

Huge sign in the front window advertising a free glass of wine with dinner. It was not offered to us. When we asked, the owner made it sound like the town would not let her offer it during the week. Sounds crazy but if true, she should take the huge sign out of the window. Food is good, service is lackluster. Owner was talking on the phone the entire time.

China Pavilion has been awarded the Best Chinese Restaurant in New Haven county for years. Atmosphere is pretty, owners, waiters and waitresses and staff are so friendly. I have been dining here for over 30 years and never had a bad meal. I love the peking duck, moo shu pork, mandarin shrimp just to name a few.
