When Hunan Gormet first opened we ate there frequently. They had decent food at a good price. Now they've become the worst Chinese in town. I gave them several tries, even after getting a bad meal, just because I figured it was a fluke. It wasn't, and others confirmed their experiences were the same. The food now tastes terrible. The orange beef was a pile of nasty breading with two tiny shavings of beef the size of a quarter in the whole dish. The fried rice tastes like old grease. The chicken and broccoli has almost no chicken, and the broccoli is old and nasty. It seems like they are trying to keep it going, but don't have enough money for ingredients.

I eat at this buffet maybe twice a year. I went the other day and I was floored. The general tso's chicken was swimming in watered down juice, as well as the sesame chicken. I don't believe they eat hot dogs wrapped in won ton wrappers in China. The waitresses and owner speak to each other in Chinese and I am not sure if they are being nice or talking about the clientele. The woman who works the cash register is not very sociable. She has a scour on her face and doesn't speak much to you. A little thank you for visiting goes a long way.
If I were reviewing this place on the basis of its ambiance, I'd give it a star. The decor is booths and typical Chinese-restaurant stuff: a cute dragon hanging from the ceiling, etc. But the food! My husband and I are vegetarians -- we keep going back for the moo shu and for tofu with vegetables and black mushrooms. Any Chinese restaurant in any big city would be doing well to have food this well prepared. Everything is made to order. There is never too much oil. Everything is delicate and fresh. And the tea is the best we've ever had in a Chinese restaurant. (The owner goes down to the city to get it.) The place is run by a lovely family, who do a great business in take-out -- but, since we live half an hour away, we eat in. At least once a week. And we have never been disappointed. Oh, and our dinner tonight -- we had to take some home -- was $20 with the tip!

This is our go to sushi place we usually have lunch but tonight we had dinner and I don't think we will have lunch anymore for now on only dinner with their great prices for all you can eat and more choices for dinner glad we gave it a try we will be back next week
I must admit that my friend and I ended up here today because Applebee's and Brook's were so crowded (I don't know why). We were on our way to the Undercover Eggplant when we drove by the No. 1 Chinese Restaurant and we decided to stop. The restaurant was empty (1:15 p.m.) and it is a very peaceful place, well decorated, very cheerful and colorful. Our food came quickly and was very hot and very good. Best of all this very FULL meal was only six dollars. I have to come here more often!

After looking all over for a parking spot near restaurant, was greeted by wonderful hostess. There are only 5 parking spaces in narrow lot in front of store. Chicken Rice soup was fantastic with real chicken chunks. Crispy beef, was tasty but not crispy at all. Shrimp toast had great flavor, but extremely greasy. Singapore Rice Noodles was plentiful, but not a lot of sauce. Portions were more than enough to share. Will not eat here again unless only soup is wanted.

Today for lunch was my second visit and I cannot think of even ONE little thing to complain about. The woman taking orders and serving them up was sooooo nice. My friend and I had various questions about some of the dishes, and she patiently explained things to us. The meal I ordered (beef and broccoli) was great! It came with rice and soup and the total bill was less than seven dollars. When we requested knives, she brought them right out to us. This place rates a ten plus on the cleanliness scale!
