Always get our Chinese food from here. The owner brings his young family members to this country, lets them live in his house, pays them for working for him, and puts them through college when they graduate from High School. This is why he doesn't invest a lot in the décor at the restaurant and does not deliver. He is a wonderful and loyal person and has a home in NT.

Yum! Shanghai is one of the best take-out (or delivery?!) Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten at! First, both the lunch and dinner specials come with an egg roll, a choice of different rices or lo meins (vegetarian available), and then the entree. These containers are packed to the brim, so I definitely recommend opening these over a plate of some sort, because they are overflowing once you open them.Second, the fried rice is not super greasy - it actually has more of a steamed rice texture with vegetables and meats added in. I do enjoy the number of tasty tofu options prepared in similar styles to their meat dishes (General Tso's, Kung Pao, etc.). While I am not strictly a vegetarian, I do like to try many different foods and was impressed by the tofu here. As we now live in this area, Shanghai has been something of a weekly ritual when it comes to take out food. As an added benefit, they also have a delivery service, which is unique in my Chinese food take-out experiences. It does cost a dollar, but they do service the Tonawanda area in general.

Had a craving for authentic Oriental food and there is NOTHING worthy of trying in my immediate area so we took the 30 minute drive to Red Pepper. Weâve visited before and were never disappointed. The place is a little run down but as long as the food is good who cares ? We were greeted friendly and seated right away. We enjoyed the complimentary tea and noodles with dipping sauces. Our server (as well as the others we noticed) were very cordial. The menu here is extensive as can be expected at a place serving Asian cuisine. I donât like veggies so I try to order things with a lot of meat and noodles. Our party got won ton soup (delicious flavor), Kung Pao chicken, General Tso chicken and beef with vegetables. The meals also came with a TON of rice and Lo Mein. All were really tasty with just the right flavors. Meals came out really fast and HOT ! We also got the Spicy beef and Sweet\Sour chicken to go. They, too, were good. My only complaint was the Spicy beef had very little beef and a HUGE amount of onions/carrots/peppers. I was also disappointed that the online menu I found prior to arriving was quite different than the dinner menu at the restaurant. Online you could order the usual large or small portion. On the menu this was not an option. When all was said and done we had enough food for about 7 people (took a lot home) and I think the total bill was only about $63. I feel we got our monies worth. Portions were very large.cant wait to go back !

love chinese food but not here. food wells were very low as to make food dry,,,eggrolls like ive never seen them,,,,very skinny. rice was dry yellow and tasteless. we have been to alot of chinese buffets but never one like this, we were all very very disappointed and will never return!
