I've lived here for 5years anfpd finally thought totry this place. Usually go to Hanover to sit down for Chinese, but with limited time, I remembered we had a take-out place nearby. Glad I did!I did not have a menu, but we ordered things normally found. My kids loved the orange chicken and the beef and broccoli. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious. The vegetable fried rice had many different vegetables and did not taste like it was three days old. I was sad to not have any leftovers for work a couple days later!Can't wait to try it again.

Forbidden City is in a little strip mall by Hanover Mall. They put out a buffet at certain times but they are not a buffet restaurant. They do alot of carryout business so if you come here to eat and the place is empty do not be confused by thinking they aren't busy! They also seem to keep the lights dim when the dining room isnt full (smart to save electricity) so if you walk in and the lights are low and you do not see customers still go in and sit!!! The waiter ( I have only ever encountered one) is a very nice guy. He is very friendly and engaging. He remembers my daughter and I everytime we come in even when it has been months. Ordering from a menu is wonderful cuz I know the food will be fresh. I LOVE the wonton soup here. They add nice pieces of chicken and some chopped snow peas which do add to the flavor and texture of the soup. This last visit we had soup and ordered chicken with mixed veg. The vegetables were fresh not frozen and cooked just perfect,. Not overcooked not under-cooked. As we sat alone in the dining room eating lunch the phone never stopped ringing and people were constantly coming in to pick up orders. I highly recommend Forbidden City for quality fresh Chinese food. I will post a few pics too! I hope this review was helpful! If so, please click "YES"!

Weâve been coming here for a little over a year and it is always really good. They have a wide variety. The sushi bar is awesome except when they run out which has happened only two times that weâve been (today being one of the times, 6 trays were empty)! I like and ha e tried just about everything here and the price is reasonable especially for weekday lunch.

Golden Dragon is a long-time staple in McSherrystown; the owners moved after running a successful buffet-style restaurant in Hanover, PA. The place is clean, efficient, and welcoming. The owners are a visible presence every single day, and they treat customers with respect. The food is terrific and consistent -- I have been eating there for almost 20 years. It is veg-friendly; they will make vegetarian hot and sour soup upon request as well as modifying existing menu items to swap in tofu for chicken, meat, or shrimp. Additionally, a lot of their customer base is made up of regulars, and they remember you and your preferences when you return. The set up is geared toward delivery and carry out, but there are about 8 tables inside with seating up to around 25. The decor is sparse but well-lit and clean, and it is not a full-service restaurant (although, they will bring food to your table). There is always hot jasmine-oolong tea available along with water, and drinks - sodas, juice, and iced tea - are available for purchase from a standing refrigerated case.The sushi is consistently good as well - always using fresh ingredients and condiments. I can honestly say I'd recommend everything I've eaten there - there are no losing dishes.Golden Dragon has a diner-esque Mom and Pop feel to it that makes it a great, affordable option if you're in the area.

Always good food at reasonable prices. The staff is always friendly and service is quick. I always call ahead and take the order home. The eatting area is pretty sparce, but who cares! They have coupons for two free egg rolls (with a $15 purchase) ... so I alway get them. Always very satisfied.
