Our lodging was within walking distance. The restaurant is across the road from the local Moorea Airport runway. It serves Chinese food. The evening we were there the menu was limited, severely. It was a Sunday and they opened for dinner at 6:00pm. Vern chose the fish with rice and steamed vegetables. I selected the BBQ chicken, vegetables and fries. The proteins were both very tasty. The rice was a full cup scoop. I would imagine my serving of fries to be at least two potatoes. I had a mango juice and Vern had a Coke. No one else was at the place. The price wasn't bad.

La première fois, nous nous sommes arrêtés manger à La Cantine par pur hazard. Ensuite, on y retourne car c'est très bon pour un petit resto de bord de route.Très bon accueil et repas excellent. Le cuistot sait vous préparer toutes sortes de plats de bonne qualité. J'étais avec mes enfants, jeunes. Ils ne mangent pas de tout...Le décor est sympa, propre, les pieds dans le sable sous une toiture typique locale. Enfin les prix sont imbattables pour Moorea au regard de la qualité des plats.

The Snack Didier café seems like a local lunch favorite in Maharepa. It is casual and bustling. The menu has Polynesian, Asian, and grill options. I had a tasty stir fry and a local beer for a very reasonable price for Moorea. Closed on Sunday.

Yum food, large portions, friendly staff, reasonably priced.We were escorted from our hotel by their staff.The food arrived quickly and was top quality. My wife went the sweet and sour pork like a typical westerner, which was actual pork belly pieces instead of the usual mystery meat you might see at a lot of western Chinese places.Seems to be a place the locals like, which is a good sign, we were the only tourists there.The only thing that was below standard was the decor.Overall a delicious, filling meal. We were driven back to our hotel also by their staff.

What a lovely little lunch stand! We got a sandwich (French style in a crusty baguette), Coke and slice of homemade banana cake for about US$6, which is super cheap in Moorea. It's family run and the service is gracious. Enjoy your lunch at one of their picnic tables with a view of Cook's Bay. Lots of local eat here - there's an endorsement. I would definitely eat here again.

We had dinner one evening on our stay in Moorea. It was OK, but I wish I hadnât wasted an opportunity at another restaurant, with such a short visit I felt like I could get this Chinese dinner down the street.

Revisited this restaurant on second trip to Moorea the following year, hosting 12 friends. There was only one other table of 4 people in the place. On the surface, we were thrilled with the setting and thought it was lovely over the water. But things went down from there. It took 20 minutes to get our first drinks...water, and a couple bottles of wine. Another hour goes by and 4 of us were served dinner. Another hour goes by, and 4 more of us received dinner. By the THIRD HOUR, the remaining 4 people were served their dinner. Two of us didnât get the full menu meal (only salad, no main course, no dessert.) By now, were were exhausted, frustrated, and decided to leave. The restaurant charged us full price for our dinner, without apologies or discounts. As a host, I felt embarrassed for having recommending this place and everyone left grumbling. The reason the waiter gave us was that two cooks didnât show up. Unfortunately, we will no longer recommend this as our go-to place on Moorea. Two stars because the location is superb.
