A friend and I met at Bao Ju for lunch. The place was not busy, and we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The service was very attentive. In fact, perhaps a bit 'too attentive'.My friend ordered the lunch special sweet and sour chicken, with egg drop soup. I ordered the beef and broccoli. The food arrived very quickly after we ordered, and the food was hot and steaming. Absolutely delicious, generous portions, attractive appearance. The broccoli was cooked to perfection. The place was not busy; I'd say it was only 20% full. Our server checked on us very frequently, which at first was very nice. But then it became annoying (but somewhat amusing).Midway through our meal, the server presented our bill, and left. That was not a problem for us. Shortly thereafter, she returned and wrote down the numbers 1 and 2 to show each meal's charge, and she told us who was 'number 1' and who was 'number 2'. We were fine with that also. Then she left. Then she returned again, and asked if we'd like boxes for leftovers and we both said 'yes'. She brought clamshell boxes for us. And left.My friend and I started putting our food in the boxes and the server appeared and insisted on putting the food in the box for me - I was too slow. Then she asked how did we want to pay, and then stood there at the table. We figured out she wanted to be paid right then. So I started taking out cash and tried to figure out the tip while she stood over our table - that was rather disconcerting, and unfortunately, because I was rushing to do mental math, I ended up giving a lesser tip than I ordinarily would have.I think that perhaps the server's shift might have been ending, but I'm not sure, because we arrived at 12 noon, and left at 1:15 PM. Clearly we were not there for 'too long', and, the place was only 20% filled. This experience will not prevent me from returning to Bao Ju to lunch with friends. I don't think the server meant any harm. Her manner kind of reminded me of my great-aunties from China - very direct, rather stern, and somewhat 'assertive'.The food was prepared very well, delicious, freshly made, not greasy. My friend and I decided to consider our server 'the entertainment' portion of the lunch experience.

There are several buffet tables. It might be the second largest buffet in the Fox Valley (uncertain), but it offers much more variety than the other buffet in Neenah. The food is almost always fresh. There have been times when the dumplings and fried chicken wings look stale, but most food looks and tastes fresh. The staff are friendly and attentive. There are limited offerings that are a bit spicy... the food is good, but a little more spice would be nice. The offerings are almost always the same, which can be good or bad, depending on your view. I would appreciate different offerings on occasion, but what they offer is a good selection. There is something akin to a small salad bar, mixed canned and fresh fruit, jello, peel and eat shrimp, and serve yourself ice cream. It's a good value and worth a try. I've never ordered from the large menu or had take out, which are available.
Where to eat American food in Menasha: The Best Restaurants and Bars
The portions are a bit large for my liking, but the food is prepared fresh and the flavor is always excellent. Their Crab Rangoons are the best!!!
This is average Americanized Chinese food. I've never had a bad order. I've only done take out while at work, so I haven't tried the buffet or delivery. Nothing special about the decor. Does seem fairly clean. Kitchen is small and you can see right in while ordering. Not the most organized but the kitchen staff seems friendly. The woman who answers the phone and takes orders speaks very quickly and at times is difficult to understand. She is not patient, so make sure you know exactly what you want and what size when you call. She seems rude but is thorough and good at what she does. When ordering for pick up, they usually have everything ready to go, or are just finishing packing it up. They do have some healthier options as well as well including white rice. They used to give more broccoli with the meals, but the last 2 times I only got a few pieces. It is cooked perfectly in my opinion, and their meat has been good and doesn't taste as if it's been sitting half the day. My go to is orange chicken broccoli and white rice. And an egg roll of course. Not bad at all. Their portions are very big, and a small size is definitely 2 meals. If you're looking for amazing food, this isn't the place, but if you're looking for something good, priced well and quick I would recommend it.
