This is a restaurant for non-Asians - the food was very American-Chinese. The restaurant is clearly a favorite neighborhood "joint" - very crowded, noisy, and difficult to reserve. As such the service was rushed - but no different from many good Chinese restaurants. Our disappointment was more with the quality of food -- very Americanized Chinese food, with a very uninteresting menu.

Taken there for lunch last week, by a friend (Chinese-American). Just like Hong Kong, many Dim Sum dishes, pick & choose, liked all 3 we ordered (took some home). Fast service, very good value. Seemed very popular at lunchtime, almost full on a weekday.

Although my wife and I are not vegetarians, as our daughter is, whenever we visit her in California she takes us to vegetarian restaurants where we cannot eat non-vegetarian food. This was the first time my wife and I went to a vegetarian restaurant without our daughter. As Chinese food lovers we were looking for a good Chinese restaurant nearby for lunch, and we went to Veggie Garden following good reviews. We really enjoyed our food and it was difficult to say that dishes were vegetarian. They were very tasty. It is a small friendly restaurant with very gooed service.

It is good seeing Charley back in town! My husband and I enjoyed lunÄh in this small restaurant.Choose noodles, then the broth type and one or more yummy toppings. Voila!!!! A yummy lunch!!! My husband said the noodles in Miso broth reminded him of Tokyo lunches. We enjoyed the lightly fried shrimp, squid, tofu and potstickers. We will definitely go back!
The wait was approximately 40 mins for a large group on Sunday around 7.15 pm. They have seating for larger groups upstairs.Pancake appetizer and peanuts in vinegar we're suitable for the vegetarians. The dishes were all tasty including the spicy lotus root, friend bean and potato (like french fries) and tofu bean dishe for Vegetarians. The meat eaters enjoyed squid and noodles. The jasmine tea was also flavorful. If you prefer a total vegetarian no meet experience then veggie garden nearby is all your option but this place has a great flavor and authentic food. They even have unique dishes like frog for meat lovers.Service is quick and you may get the main dishes and appetizers together. Dessert with the rice cakes like mochi in sweet sauce and lotus (not very sweet) were a hit. Try something different and authentic here.
