Things to do in Highland Park
We ordered soup dumplings, beef scallion pancakes, oyster pancakes and the braised beef noodle soup. All were delicious. The beef scallion pancakes reminded me some what of Peking duck since the beef was sandwiches in the pancake with sliced scallions and a sweet hoisin like sauce. The beef noodle soup was flavorful although some bits of the beef was a bit chewy. The soup dumplings were good and soupy.
We tried two desserts, the mango crepe and the other had coconut ice cream, whip cream and fruit. The mango crepe was a layered mango cake and was absolutely delicious. The place has a comfortable vibe with friendly service.

I have eaten here several times, but this my first posting of this restaurant. It is cavernous, so seating never seems a problem. I came with a dozen friends. Some were disappointed there were no noodles with mustard and sweet sauce, like their neighborhood chow me in joint. But look around! We were the only non-Asians! That alone said volumes. My friends all wanted the "standard" fare, but I wanted items on the Chinese menu. We all agreed, there was too much salt. But the quality and quantity were more than satisfactory. Will I return? Absolutely, but I'll ask for less MSG, salt, or soy sauce Our waiter was Jimmy - kudos to him. We were a crowd and did an outstanding job trying to anticipate our needs
Top 3 Fast Food food in Highland Park, New Jersey, United States
It is a bit hard to separate one Chinese fast-food over another, but this location stands out slightly. The Chinese food here is always top notch for this kind of location. Seems fresh. The delivery time is almost always what is promised. The order-takers speak good English so there are usually no issues with ordering. Have not tried their sushi though.

The service was excellent. The food was excellent. All around a great experience!!The wonton soup had a good chicken flavor just wish it was a larger bowl. 2 wontons, pork and scallions. The sesame chicken had a nice flavor to the sauce. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Enough chicken for 2.5 people. The 5 meat stir fry was very good. My only complaint would be the pork was large pieces and hard to cut with no knife. Again enough food for at least 2 people.
They have a huge and diverse menu of tasty to go options and offer a small eat in area. Staff are always so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They also take orders over the phone if you're local.

We are really glad that we recently discovered this place. We were getting tired of the usual Chinese fare, and looking at the menu, we realized that this would be the place to find some authentic Sichuan food. After trying out many cuisines, we are now hooked on the âover-the-top spicyâ items. For appetizers, we ordered the Scallion Pancakes with the spicy red chili sauce. They were exactly as we envisioned â fresh, light, fluffy, crispy and tasty. The spicy sauce did wonders to enhance the taste and the flavor of the pancakes. For the Main Course, we ordered the Fish Fillets in a spicy soupy sauce. The fish was incredibly tender and flaky, and simply melted in our mouths. The flavor of the soupy mix was extraordinarily delicious. The portion was large, so we could take it home to enjoy with white rice for another meal. Our other dishes included the diced Chicken with Peppercorns and the Kung Pao Chicken. Both these dishes came with lots and lots of red chilies and pepper, along with celery and peanuts, with the end result being incredibly mouth-numbing, but memorably delicious. (Both dishes were requested to be at the spicy level)The staff is amazingly friendly, especially the ownerâs daughter, Chaorui. She was an absolute delight, came over to our table, explained a lot of the menu items to us, and made fantastic recommendations. We were surprised to find that this place with some great food was empty, even on a Friday night. We were the only ones in the âHot Potâ room. It was our original intention to order the hot pot, but we changed our minds, and ordered A la carte items from the menu instead. The main dining room had a few families. My first time here has made me a convert to these types of spicy flavors in our area. My family has been to China, and commented that this food had the same authentic delicious hometown flavors of the Sichuan province.Parking in front of the Restaurant is almost on the street, so one has to exercise extreme caution while backing out. The place is not too far from home, so the owners can expect to see us every now and then.

Chef Tan's sets a mark and reflects a standard rarely reached by other Chinese restaurants in this area. CT's earns this distinction with well-prepared and handsomely presented dishes from diverse Chinese culinary traditions, all in a smart setting, overseen by a knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. At lunch, CTs features reasonably priced (ca $9) specials that are organized by taste (e.g., cumin flavored) or principal flavor ingredient (e.g., scallion or onion) that can be ordered with one's desired main element (lamb, beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, or, in my case, a real favorite: eggplant, in the wood ear and garlic combination). At dinner, the choices expand considerably with a variety of rare (in most American Chinese places) ingredients, principally offal. For the admirer of tripe, for example, this represents a bonanza. (Fear not, there are many other more "Americanized", as the menu says, options!) CT's excels in doing simple things superbly (ordinary cabbage, for example, that becomes amazingly tasty after being sautéed with a few aromatics and the ubiquitous Szechuan peppers). The dinner eggplant dish (steamed with minced pork) is sublime...in texture and flavor. At lunch one day, a very earnest, effective and pleasant waiter brought out some fresh cilantro: "It goes so well with the cumin-taste lamb," he said. It did. He and the kitchen staff really know what they are doing and this is just one more important reason why Chef Tan's rises well above the many other good Chinese restaurants in Central New Jersey.

This place serves the absolutely best Xiaolong Bun in Jersey. The restaurant is essentially a whole-in-the-wall and always very crowded. Expect to wait for 30 minutes, even at some odd hours. My kids like it very much and we think the food is delicious enough worth of waiting for.

Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot is a restaurant specializing in Mongolian style hot pot dining. With 36 spices and ingredients in our original soup base recipe, our flavorful broth is sure to satisfy every single one of your taste buds. The highest quality
This hot pot restaurant is very popular on the weekends. Some weeknights this restaurant is also full. The best time to go is for their lunch special Monday through Friday before 3 PM for $10.95. Not only it is economical but less crowded. The last time we went was for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait. I prefer the spicy soup base but the rest of the family stick with the regular. I personally think the regular broth is too salty but the spicy one is just right. It came with tons of chilis and other spices. Very aromatic and tasty. I suspect they use a fair amount of MSG as well.If you order one meat, one veggie, one meatball and wonton per person, expect to spend at least $25 per person without drinks and tax/tip. We have not been able to spend less than $30 per person when all is said and done. Quite pricey for the amount of meat that you get. Seafood is even more expensive. We have tried just about every meat that they offer including beef Angus, fatty beef, variety cuts of lamb, free range chicken, and their seafood. We have tried the vegetable combo platter but prefers to stick with broccoli, Napa cabbage, and bok choy. Beware that the vegetables and the meat shrink when you cook them. The meat is sliced very thin so they cook really fast in the boiling soup. The food has been consistently very good (broth and The freshness of the meat and vegetable). Service is very good also. The wait can be long on certain nights. You can wait until your turn or try other restaurants in the complex. No reservation for party of less than six. It is always a fun place to eat with the family but be prepared to spend a lot of money. As I mentioned in the beginning, the best time to go it's on weekdays and order their lunch special. Now that's what I call a great deal.
