Good Hong Kong style food. Good range of dishes available with all of the dishes you'd expect at a Hong Kong style restaurant, and a few vegetarian options available. The broccoli cooked with garlic was great. They also have desserts and fresh juices on the menu. We were seated and served very quickly and found the service staff pretty helpful. We got to the restaurant pretty close to closing time and it wasn't very full. The kitchen closed at 10pm when we were there. Menus have English writing and pictures of each dish. One downside was that it was a little bit smokey. The restaurant is on the side of a hotel, on Dongyang Dajie (the walking street).

We went to Golden Hans for lunch. We didn't have high expectations, but it turned out great. The hall is huge and decorated in an intense German beer hall style. The room is a bit dark, but not crowded. You buy your ticket before you enter the hall. Food is pretty cheap - a ticket (59 yuan) gets you a large variety of carved meats brought to you at your table by boys wearing German style outfits. More than I could eat - I declined some offers towards the end. You also have access to a massive buffet. The buffet has freshly cooked pizzas, many Chinese style dishes, a salad bar, Chinese style dumplings, deserts (cakes and egg tarts), coffee, soft drinks and fruit juices etc.I have heard that Golden Hans includes all you can drink beer at lunch time. Maybe this is true, but we had to pay. Our Mandarin was not good enough to ask. Some tables had small or 1L steins of beer, and some tables had tall glass dispensers holding 2-3 litres. We ordered large beers, and through possible misunderstanding got one of the dispensers that cost 20 yuan. Perhaps if we had ordered just a stein it would have been free? It was a pretty fun place to go, cheap and quick and easy.

We ate at 81 Walking/Pedestrian Street King of Oriental Dumplings the other night. The staff was very happy to see us and informed us there was an "English Menu" which turned out to be a Russian menu! There is a screen flashing menu highlights and we had no problems ordering - mostly hits and a couple of misses. The Vegetarian dumplings had fish in them and were not popular with the kids, but they loved the boiled pork dumplings and everyone devoured the broccoli. The clear soups were also fantastic and warming. The total for 11 people including two beers was 450RMB, we thought that was a good deal, and the staff were as accommodating as they could be. The restaurant is busy and getting the waitstaff's attention sometimes took a bit, but it wasn't because they were ignoring you, it was because this is a popular busy restaurant. We would definitely go back if we had been in Harbin for longer.

Chun Bing is considered one of the best and most delicious food worldwide! Here at Lao Chang, you can find so many dishes such as shredded pork in hoisin sauce/barbecue sauce with shredded scallions and other dishes(Potatoes, or others). I definitely enjoyed all of my time here eating.

We patronised Maomao (æ¯æ¯çè大饼ï¼twice on 12 & 13 May 2017. Delicious Dongbei food! 30 years in business (ä¸åå¹´èåå·ï¼. Popular with the locals. The two times when we were there, we saw no tourists. ~How to get there?~56, DaAn Street 大å®è¡, off Zhongyang Main Street (ä¸å¤®å¤§è¡ï¼. If you are staying at ibis (Zhaolin Street outlet) like us, walk out of the hotel, turn left, then turn left almost immediately again. Head straight towards Zhongyang Main Street. Once at Zhongyang Main Street, get onto the first side street on your left, opposite you, that's DaAn Street. Walk past at least 10-15 shoplets/eateries and you will see Maomao on your left. Check GPS for more details.~The Food~First meal we had (12 May) : 1. çè Xun Rou - Smoked meat2. 大饼 Da Bing - Pancakes with "pockets" (For Singaporeans: it is like a thicker version of roti prata)3. ä¸é²èç San Xian Qie He - Brinjal stuffed with meat and fried together with tiny prawns, small sea cucumbers, almost microscopic cuttlefish (it was like 1/10 of the size of cuttlefish we see in our dishes in Singapore's Chinese restaurants). Nonetheless, extremely tasty! 4. You must order your sweet (black in colour) sauce and onions. The sweet sauce was like that used for Beijing Duck/Peking Duck ï¼å京é¸ï¼One set is enough for 2 pax.5. Dongbei porridge (complimentary), totally bland but healthy. It complemented the well-seasoned dishes.Total cost Â¥76Second meal we had (13 May) :-1. çè Xun Rou - Smoked meat2. 大饼 Da Bing - Pancakes with "pockets" 3. æç® is made from æ·ç² according to waitress. We checked for English translation of æ·ç²and it's starch. It's like Japanese cold noodles except that the noodles are made of starch and they use 麻油(sesame oil) and 麻 to marinate it. Strips of cucumber, carrot and coriander are added. My partner liked it. I was ok with it, didn't fancy it in particular.4. 西è¹çè¾ Celery fried with prawns. Both celery & prawns were very fresh! 5. Sauce & Onions6. Free bland porridge. Total cost Â¥88Service:- For the price we paid, service was good. Sweets were provided at the cashier. Need to walk to cashier to pay.P/S To digress: please do not get conned by the Russians performing on their accordion and violin at Modern Coffee and Restaurant's (reviewed under Modern Hotel) at 89 Zhongyang Main Street (ä¸å¤®å¤§è¡) verandah and glass windows. We knew it was going to be expensive. We have never tried western food in China, so we wanted to try it. Paid Â¥350 for some bad dishes (some were good though) and service. When one pays Â¥350 for a meal for two vs Â¥76 which is 4x, of course one will expect a higher level of service and it was not only not any better, it was not as good. Please read our review.
Fantastic venue, although obviously very very cold. Delicious hot pot - with very large portions and lots of choice. Expensive, but worth it for the experience. An alternative would be to just have a drink at the bar.

we were taken to this restaurant by a local young woman . She explained to us that the retiring is well known in harbin and indeed it was crowded and people were waiting to get sits.It is managed by third generation to the same family. Food is very tasty. You must try the Cod fish clocked with beer ,the fried meet in lemon , the cold mushroom salad and the assorted cold meet every thing was served with the local cold drink made of bread.the restaurant is decorated in Chinese old style. We recommend this restaurant. You must make reservation .the locals have lunch between 12-14 and dinner between 17-20..

I have been traveling to Harbin on a consistent base for long time and this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The first time I went was in 2006 and I liked the local handmade dumplings (jiaozi). Now it became a chain in franchising but it still kept the habit to make the dumplings manually on the spot just after the order as per the local tradition. There are several locations and some have also the menu in English or offer a better menu. The service is always fast and in my opinion it may be considered a healthy option to the american fast food chains.

Enter there before 6 pm ahead of the hordes of customers to avoid long queues. The jiaozi (chinese ravioli) are really the pleasure to be tested at least once in this chain. We ordered four types of æ°´é° (shuijiao) and found them all with their own taste character. So it was a degustation experience for a very affordable budget. Very busy staff and they do not speak english.
Better than expected after reading previous reviews. It is dated, but not bad. Needs renovation to keep up with the other Shangri-La buffet restaurants. Very good breakfast selection, but super crowded before everyone heads out on their tours in the morning.Had dinner there the first night and asked for a rush to be put on our order so we could get to Ice World. Staff delivered it super quick. Good club sandwich, burger, nasi goreng, japanese noodles, and local noodle dish. Considering the variety of our order, very impressed with how quickly the order came out. Even more impressed that all items were delivered simultaneously. We had 6 pax and were put at a large corner table marked "Communal Table." Understand the rationale when it is busy in the morning, but it was a turn-off since breakfast was not included in our room rate and we paid retail for the meal. Receipt cup in the middle of the table was also a turn-off. Very good steamed dumplings and dim sum items.Keep an eye on your egg order. Like a taxi, it will get taken by someone else if you turn your back for a second. It's China, so you will have to get used to it.
