Hap Chan began franchising its restaurant chain in 1999 through Hap Chan Trading & Management Corporation. Hap Chan Tea House has now grown its menu with a wide array of special signature dishes, and has branched out to various parts of the Philippines, a
We had repeatedly visited this restaurant with no incident but during Valentine's dinner we ordered 'meat pancit canton' and the dish turned out to be bitter! The vegetables were inedible, and this is from frequent eaters of bitter gourd. The Nido-corn soup was okay and the lumpia was especially good. The tables are so close together but this was maybe due to the occasion.

Particularly outstanding at this restaurant is its Peking chicken, which is very tender and one of the top chicken dishes when it comes to General Santos restaurants. Also excellent is its beef with mushroom dish, made from excellent tender beef. I also especially liked its beef stew (which I put on top of rice) and which I liked even more than its beef with mushroom dish. Also particularly worth mentioning is a noodle dish there, Ban-I, made with noodles, shrimp and vegetables. Also, their coco panda is a rich and tasty desert made of panda and cocoanut meat. --Of course you could order other dishes, which are of varying quality at this restaurant. They will bring tea to your table at no charge. This tea is not outstanding but a bit better than just having water. Every time my wife and I eat at this restaurant, another table ordered the iced tea tower for their group. This is an almost-meter-tall glass cylinder filled with tea, which will be put right on your table. I saw that the people at the table involved always drank nearly all the tea. (I never tried this myself, though, thinking it was too much for two people.) The servers at this restaurant are outstanding. The Hao Chuan restaurant is operated by the owner of the Phila Grande hotel and restaurant in General Santos City, where it must be that the servers at the Hao Chuan restaurant received excellent training. This restaurant on the second floor of the fountain court in SM Mall is right next to another Chinese restaurant with a similar name. Hap Chan, which could cause you a little confusion. (The Hap Chan restaurant, by the way, also has some good dishes.) The name of this restaurant, Hao Chuan transcribes the name of the owner from Chinese. The name of the owner, who lives in General Santos City, is Charles... in English. (I haven't provided his last name simply because it is best not to broadcast someone's full personal name on the web.)

If you are looking for good Chinese food in GenSan then this is the place for you. We had a Father's Day dinner there last Sunday and really enjoyed our meal. Our favorites were the patatim, camaron rebosado, crab soup, and the cold cut platter, but everything was good. They also have excellent fresh squeezed juices. This restaurant is immaculately kept, service is warm and prompt.and you will think the food is a bit pricey til you see the portion size. Then you will think it is quite cheap considering quality and amount. We are definitely going back!
