We were having a bad night, very disappointed at the festival in the city, kids complaining, everyone hungry, not much money on hand. And I remembered this little place from 10 years ago. Our lucky night! Not only was it still in business, but the same amazing woman was the chef.We walked in at 9:00 on a Saturday, were greeted immediately by a young man who asked if we were there to pick up a take out order. Apparently, no one really dines in. We replied no, and then were seated immediately. There was not another soul in the place. Everything was very clean and neat, with the same furniture and fixtures from a decade earlier. The menu was easy to read and well organized. The kids each chose something, and my husband ordered the wonton soup. I ordered a small crab Rangoon for the kids. When the apps came out, it was mind blowing. The soup was a meal into itself, fresh, hot, delicious. And if you've never had fresh homemade crab rangoins, this is totally worth the trip. I couldn't snap the picture fast enough as the kids dove in. Take out crab Rangoon are ruined by steaming themselves soggy in the container. These were incredibly crisp and delicious. All of our entrees were huge, and we all had to share each ithers just to try. Sooo good, and fresh, not greasy or salty. And a meal for 4, including drinks, and 2 beers apiece for me and my husband was a shocking $44!!!! Yes, that's not a typo. Forty four dollars including tax. The service was amazing, too. "Best restaurant EVER!" my son said as we were leaving. Kind of shady neighborhood at night, but so worth the trip. Must dine in!!!

I have ordered from Number One for so long they know my voice on the phone. For years my daughter and I have always gotten the same thing, chicken and broccoli. On our last delivery we decided to try some new items. The pepper steak was awesome, so was the chicken chow mien, and the generals chicken was to die for.

I went with my two cousins and we where seated. We get our food and sit down and noticed the last ease dropping on our conversation so we ignored it. I get up to get a plate and I wanted some chicken and brocolli and their wasn't any so I said to Tue lady nicely "excuse me, ma'am is the chicken and brocolli coming up soon?". She replyed " IT COOKING" rudly so I saidbok and sat down. Well we got our check and I paid for it and gave the lady her tip of 5 dollars and she said "oh hah" rudly. I was so pissed off I wanted to snatch the 5 back and say "no tip for you!". I'm my opinion I go out to all I can eat I expect for the lady not to be eese dropping the whole damn time making me feel uncomfortable and I don't feel I should be treated like a piece of crap then when tip time comes you want to be ungreatful! But hey its whatever I personally wouldn't recomend it but their food is pretty good. Ho and if you wanna take food home its 4 dollars and some change per pound!

We order from this restaurant about once per week. The shrimp pad thai is the best ever! Shrimp are usually very big and snap when you bite into them! Not soft and mushy!! They also have very good crab rangoons & wonton soup. Food is always hot with quick delievery!! Our favorite take out chinese restaurant in the city!

The food from China Star is awesome!!! Its also inexpensive! I lived away from New England for many years, and any time I came home, it was always China Star for Chinese food! They have real chow mein noodles with great gravy. A chow mein sandwich from China Star is just like what you ate as a kid growing up in Fall River! Try it, you'll be hooked too!

10 guys looking for Chinese food to have during a card game. Asian House was not my choice, I hadn't been there before. We called in a large order (about $150.00), and it arrived pretty quickly. It was a lot of food, all apppetizers! I had some garlic chicken wings, beef lo mein, pork lo mein, teriyaki beef, and boneless spare ribs. There were also some other apps I didn't try.I thought the food was good, the garlic chicken wings were excellent. The lo mein was... well... lo mein. It was good, pretty average and on par with other local chinese places. I thought the teriyaki steak was very good, I'd rate it above average.Overall, all 10 of us were very happy with the food. Plus there was plenty for anyone who wanted to take some home at the end of the night.

Tiny place but the food is always fresh, quick and tasty. I can't get enough of their chicken wings. Not much seating, so expect to take the food to go, but it's well worth it.

I informed the server that the first time I ever visited this restaurant, my parents laid me on the seat next to them---I was a newborn baby. That was 74 years ago!Happy to report that the food was totally familiar, and every bit as good as we remembered from the previous owners. Fall River Chow Mein is unique---famous---and worth the visit.

This is not a place to eat. It is the warehouse and factory where chow mein noodles are made, sold, and distributed from. Disappointed that it was just a small store front and not a factory tour. Excited to buy a case of the chow mein noodles which I grew up eating in New England.

After decades away from Mee Sum, we tried it again for "old times sake." The "Old Times" were with the previous owners. When the children took it over, they were not up to their parents level of restaurant operation. It is not necessary to detail their past efforts, because they have not only corrected past negatives, they have surpassed their parents in all but one area... customer relationship. I am sure that will come. Meanwhile, their staff is more that up to the customer relationship, they excel! Mee Sums sparkles with amazing "newness" that at the same time keeps old-time atmosphere. Cleanliness is 5-Star, as is the quality, quality and pricing of the menu items. We went back after a visit just one month ago to be sure we were not just again in love with the past, and we again experienced 5-Star service and dining. One nice gesture is providing a 2nd pot of tea without having to ask for more. We are back with Mee Sum!
