There's hot, then there's Sichuan hot. Instead of just razing your tastebuds into submission like some spicy foods you'll experience the flavorful heat unique to the Sichuan province of central China. I went with a group of Sichuan experts, my mother and her elderly lunch 'tribe' who were raised in Sichuan. They all gave the place a thumbs up! If you're a vegetarian the menu offers 'mock' dishes where tofu seasoned to taste as flavorful as pork, chicken and beef are also served.Chef Zeng wa born in Canton but traveled north to the Sichuan province to study its cuisine.

Well Season is the late comer of Chinese restaurants that offer good dim sum. The dim sum quality is quite good. It gives Asian Pearl and Hong Kong Islander a run for their money. The competition is heating up. Good for Sacramentans who have long felt being a second class citizen compared to Chinese food you can get in the San Francisco Bay Area. However, may be this is part of their growing pain or learning curve, the service is very slow. Staff is kind of green, or the restaurant is understaffed, often time a bit chaotic getting your food. Since they push dim sum on a cart, not by a paper ordering form, you would need to wait for your turn - for the dim sum cart to show up. Of the time we went, only one cart carrying the steamed variety such as har gow, siu mai, beef balls, etc.. One cart for steamed items to go around for a restaurant that big? To me the management is not thinking right. After we sat down, we didn't get any food until 15 to 20 minutes into it.The huge LED TV screen - as big as the LED advertisement billboards along the freeway - from floor to ceiling... is an eye candy distraction. It is all right, not that many diners really care to look at. Though it looks quite impressive. They only opened a few months ago. Hopefully if you visit in or after mid 2018, they may have all the kinks worked out to provide you an all-around satisfying dining experience.

Service was good for lunch and the menu was reasonably priced. Table was looking out on the parking lot and was sunny for me and in the shade for my guest. Relaxed atmosphere and no push to leave when we completed our meal. Lots of food for the price.

We've been eating at this family run and family friendly Chinese restaurant for several years but this is our first review. We've never been disappointed in the food, the value or the service. The ingredients are fresh and not as oily as many other chinese restaurants we've tried in the area. The hot & sour soup is especially good, well seasoned but not too spicy to heat.

Directed there by the computer, as a close by restaurant, we called it a lucky choice. It was a nice refreshing walk, with some charming laguna view and finally a very pleasant, popular restaurant. My companion decided to have a dish, what was called Happy Meal-or something similar. It was a little bit of everything and the look of it was very appetizing.I was just as curious as ever, and wanted to try something new. It was scallops cooked and served in a clay pot. I liked this still sizzling meal, but had to wait short while before I dared to touch it. It contained big plump scallops and fried diced tofu. With some rice - that was the less impressive part of our dinner- it was a very appealing meal. The restaurant was tastefully decorated, the food nicely served, and we had a fast, friendly, attentive service. When I asked for some dessert -that this restaurant didn't have - the waitress have seen the disappointment on my face, quickly went away, and came back with a handful of extra fortune cookies. It was a very nice, thoughtful gesture of her. From now on I have to be very fortunate. The prices were friendly and our overall impressions were a definite positive.

Journey to the Dumpling consistently provides courteous and friendly service with delicious dishes. We tried a few vegetarian dishes this time and we loved them!! Salt - pepper tofu, veggie dumplings, to name a few. The Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce was yummy. Then onto the usual: XLB and YC fried rice!! Canât wait to return again.
