We've passed this restaurant many times and decided to give it a try on the advice of friends. They were right, we should have visited here sooner.Beef with ginger was excellent--nicely cooked and spiced, served on a sizzling hot plate. Mixed seafood, beef, and vegetables over thick egg noodles also excellent. Wines a bit pricey, but less expensive decent ones are available. Service was superb at first, but then the waiter forgot us. Still, we were happy to get a table particularly since we were walk-ins on a Thursday night. Restaurant was nearly full. I think reservations are recommended particularly on weekends or parties larger than four.We found the restaurant ambience fine--very clubby with the big leather chairs and spacious booths. The lights were turned down to just the right level. We liked it.Bottom line: good choice for a nice evening out in Douala.

Went to this restaurant with my Cameroonian colleagues and have to say it was a nice experience. Interior wise the restaurant looks overall not much different from Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands or Poland about 15 years ago.The owners are a Chinese family, staff is friendly and nice. When I was there saw some other foreigners coming in as well and also my Cameroonian colleagues knew it quite well I learned so it seems to be a popular place in Douala. My colleagues told me this is the best Chinese restaurant in Douala, much better then another one in town that I do not know so cannot judge that. The menu is quite extensive with a good choice of starters and main courses in both different types of meat, fish, seafood and vegetarian. Basically the menu looked pretty similar to that of Chinese restaurants I have been in elsewhere. For drinks they also offer real fresh made juices from at least pineapple and some other local fruits, it took a while before they arrived at the table but the ones drinking them were very happy with the quality. We ordered a mix of starters with among others spring rolls and deep friend shrimps. The spring rolls were very tasty and crispy but the shrimps looked to have been fried in a bit too cold oil, still ok but could have been better. Some also ordered sea food soup and that seemed to be very good. The main courses varied from spicy chicken (not that spicy), fish and pork served in hot pans, pork in sweet and sour sauce and some more. With it we ordered fried rice and some glass noodles. To my joy it was really fried rice, too often been served with simple white rice with some additions but not properly fried. And the taste was nice. All dishes I tasted were quite nice, not top class but a pleasure to eat.And seeing and listening to the responses of my colleagues they all enjoyed their dishes as well. As usual in many Chinese restaurants the food was served quite quickly and was nicely presented. We did not have deserts as everybody had a (more then) full stomach so cannot judge the choice and quality of them.A nice place to go for a change of type of food and will for sure go there more often.
It was night and pouring with rain. The windscreen wipers of the 30 year old Toyota taxi didn't work. Only one headlight shone, faintly. The driver had no idea where the restaurant we wanted to go was located although he claimed he knew it. After ten minutes of near misses we'd had enough. We had no idea where we were but saw the lights of Le Pekin and decided to eat there. We were glad we did. It's a large, bright, clean restaurant. The menu is in French, English and Chinese. The food was, well, like the food you get in Beijing - the real thing and very good. Prices were European apart from beer which was cheap. We were the only Europeans in there that night. The rest of the clientele was Chinese. Waiting staff were locals. I'll certainly go back again next time I'm in Douala.

One place my friend Zara and I can run to when the stress from work gets to us. The service is not very swift but the food is great. I particularly enjoy their fish rolls
