Stopped by for lunch on a weekday, figuring it might be good one evening go r a family meal.Nothing disappoints more than not using fresh ingredients. I had a poultry dish that was no doubt made from frozen Chicken. There are better choices in the immediate area.

Came here with a friend who knew the menu and spoke the language; that makes for a smooth first experience. We sampled the menu including a house specialty - handmade spicy noodle soup. The we had everything from the soup dumplings to hundred year old eggs to sliced pigs ear to bowls of hot soy milk. Everything was a taste treat! Good service; cash only.

Why any restaurant brings out the rice first. Sits there for 5 minutes. Then the main course and THEN the appetizers. Co worker got her soup and main course at the same time. An appetizer is an appetizer. The last thing to come out were the dumplings: ordered as an appetizer. Oh and don't sit in the round table in the doorway: the door slams every time it's opened/closed. Only reason to give it two stars is because the food was actually good.

Our experience consistent with the bulk of reviews already here. Chive pie a bit too greasy. Pot stickers and stuffed pork bun good. Chicken with black bean sauce down as hot and spicy, not really, but tasty enough. Shrimp with asparagus also good. Service fine. Food comes out when its ready, so don't think about appetizer / main course distinction.

Yippppeeee for Yuan Fu! Now, I have another good place to eat lunch near my work that is healthy and yummy! I ordered the Lunch Special - String Beans and Shiitake Mushrooms Szechuan Style but added diced "chicken" for $3.00 more. I also got a Wonton Soup, Brown Rice, and I ordered 1 x Spring Roll for $1.75 each. What a great lunch! My favorite thing was the "chicken." YUM! I will definitely be back because the staff is super friendly and the food is GOOD! Plus, I have to try their "Lunch Box" which is only $8.00 and you can get in-restaurant. One scoop of rice and three choices of assorted food items on their hot buffet. It looked so incredibly good and fresh that I almost ordered it even though I had already called ahead & ordered my lunch to-go already. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to go back.

Getting tired of trying to be VEGETARIANS, we decided to treat ourselves and dined at this restaurant again. We ordered the 4 pieces of Salmon Bites with Avocado (Special of the Day Sushis, Shrimp Fried Rice ( our favorite) and Chicken with Mixed Vegetables. We're impressed with the sushis, our first time to order them. The salmon bites were very fresh and there were some crunches in the Avocado fillings. Big pieces of shrimps were included in our Fried Rice. The same was true with our Chicken Dish, big slices of tender, delicious pieces of Chicken served with broccoli, carrots, corn, and snow peas.We ordered the Dinner Sizes (we're there at 2:00 p.m.) so we had big leftovers to take home. For desserts, we shared one piece of rich and delicious Chocolate Cake, small servings of FREE ice cream and Fortune Cookies. Total of all our foods is about $35 plus tips.Highly recommended! Will surely eat here again!

We spotted Jin River after another mediocre meal at another nearby restaurant. We were happily surprised by the unusual items on the menu. Service was exquisite, as was the food. While this was our first, it will certainly not be our last. Be aware, the 'medium' is really rather 'hot' according to American tastes. However, if you wish a dish to be mild, don't worry: they will prepare it the way that you like it.

A quick Google search turned up yelp and other sites about East Pearl, but there doesn't appear to be a dedicated website. Excellent food!
My first visit was with some friends who've been there before. While there are several very good Chinese restaurants in Rockville, this ranks among the best. The speed of the service is dependent upon the size of the crowd, the time, and the day of the week. Nevertheless, the food was always superb. As others have noted, the menu is oriented to those who prefer authentic Chinese food (China natives, for example), and those who prefer Chinese food moderated for the American palate. Prices are low to moderate; dress is informal; mastery of Mandarin is not needed.

I always complain about the Chinese food in Bethesda. From now on, I'll take a longer trip and go to Rockville instead. This food was excellent. Fresh ingredients. Not oversauced or oversweetened. Soup dumplings, fried rice - really every dish we had was excellent. We'll be back. Cash Only!

Very uneven. Dumplings and Dan Dan noodles a disaster. Likely frozen dim sum from a bag. Chicken and veggie dishes hit higher marks. In all more hype than quality Chinese.
