I think the food here is pretty good quality. It is each as much as you want for one price, but it is order from the menu, so it's all freshly cooked.Great choice of chinese and Thai dishes. I would say that the portions are very small, but I guess that guards against too much waste, and you can always order more if you want.Really like the selections of starters and soups, and as always the crispy duck is lovely. There is a very wide selection of meat and fish main courses, great value.

nothing ever changes in this joint, service with no smile but pretty dependable to be edible! menu hasn't changed in forever but that's not a bad thing, its not high end Chinese but never none anyone to have doggy stomach either.

today us three visited China Star, and we didn't realise it was an all you can eat for £17.90 a head for over 8 year olds. we ordered our starters and they were quite good. however, when we placed our main course orders, our condescending waitress looked surprised, nay disgusted, when our vegetarian member ordered three small tofu dishes. we were also surprised, nay disgusted, at how shocking her behaviour was. these staff are meant to be friendly and, 'happy to help,'...well, thats what it said at the front of the menu. the mains weren't very nice; the tofu was spongey, undercooked, bland, insipid and watery, the chicken dry, and the noodles sloppy. we only ordered one bowl of rice between us, by the way. please also bear in mind that one of the three of us was an 11 year old, and we had to pay full price for them even though she didn't eat half of what the adults at a buffet restaurant normally consume. yes, yes, yes i KNOW thats how a buffet restaurant works, but this was a torrid affair even so.the bill was a shocking amount; over £80 pounds! we only had two drinks each, and if I'm good at maths, £17.90 x 3 + drinks does NOT = £££££££££ absolutely outrageous. we should have walked out the minute we walked in. we will not be returning.
