Things to do in Ashiya
国道2号線沿いにある、前々から気になっていたお店です。カウンター席しかないこじんまりとしたお店ですが、ピータン、チャーシュー、蒸し鶏、焼豚、クラゲ、ローメン…と全てにおいて美味しかったです。

We come to this restaurant fairly often.Part of the Ikari Supermarket group of companies, it is attached to the Ashiya Ikari Supermarket. There are two parking spots, one directly below and attached to the lot and one on the other side of the train tracks. Parking is free however parking on the far side parking lot, you need to get your parking ticket endorsed or you will have to pay.We usually order their dinner special set meals. Range from 2800 to 5000 yen per person however it is a good deal for what you get. We ordered the 3600 dinner set (per head) and we received a 7 course meal including dessert. This is tailored for the Japanese. Sweet and sour pork is not that sweet or sour. Chicken fry looks and taste more like Japanese karage. Their shark fin soup is tasty but you get a guilty conscience because they use real shark fin. It's all well packaged and tasty. It's NOTHING like what you will get in China however with its classy setting, modified / refined menu - for Japanese it's a pretty good and safe option.
Montetmer shopping center is closing for a full renovation for approximately one year. Totenkaku other locations will be open but this location is forced to be closed for the same duration. The staff said they will be back when the building is reopened. We have been coming to this location every few months and they never miss with the quality of the food. The food is fine dining Chinese, done will their Japanese clientele in mind. Having lived and worked in many parts of China, the food as a Japanese take to many traditional Chinese recipes. It is well done.Whether it was the shark fin soup with a large piece of fin, the Peking Duck with everything wrapped for easy eating, sweet / sour pork that has a less sweet and more vinegar and even the dessert of almond tofu are all made not for the Chinese in mind but has a distinct Japanese flair. We really like this place. This is not a cheap dinner out. A course menu can easily be 4,000-7,000 yen per person plus drinks. However, considering that it is Ashiya, it is not an outlandish price point.
男性の店長が居る頃の黄老は良かった。色々お料理のサゼッションも頂けて、食事の楽しみも有ったが、ランチセットも値上がりしたし、残念。
