Louisiana is renowned for many ethnic dishes, but Chinese isn't usually on the list. And to be fair, I'm grading this restaurant on convenience and delivery service as well as their food. That said, this is one of the better take-out Chinese restaurants I've been to in the New Orleans area.I haven't been pleased with the closer Chinese take-out restaurant lately. My 7-yr-old son was sick the previous evening and I was up with him most of night so I didn't want to even THINK about cooking! Looked around on Yelp and decided to call China Gardens to see if they delivered. (Many don't around here.) But yes! they did. Wasn't sure what to expect but I ordered my usual take-out favorites. The hot and sour soup and cashew chicken didn't disappoint -- they were both wonderful. I love hot and sour soup, but most places disappoint. This place didn't. The soup was full of mushrooms, tofu and rich broth that had just the right amount of spice. (I could've stopped there but there is a $15 minimum order for takeout, which seemed fair.) The cashew chicken had a ton of cashews, with plenty of chicken and veggies in a flavorful brown sauce. Not much "filler" stuff (bamboo sprouts and such.) I'm not a big eater, but even so the soup and the entrée were enough to feed three people. This will be my go-to Chinese takeout/delivery place from now on.

The sushi chef invests a great deal of time in crafting these rolls. The presentation is impressive. We had the Tiger Roll, the Playboy, and the one other (sorry, I forgot the name!). They were fresh, but a bit lacking in terms of flavor. We found the rolls on the bland side.
Location on a side street to the Walmart. Basic menu items for decent prices. Husband likes more than I do because I feel food was heavy feeling, too greasy. Haven't been in a while but no real changes.

This is a regular stop for us when in a hurry and don't have much time and don't want to eat at a fast food restaurant. Food and service is good.
