Reviews on Chilean food in Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile. Santiago is one of those metropolitan joys where the more you look, the more you find. Funky cafes and dance clubs dot Bellavista, Forest Park art collections range from pre-Columbian to contemporary, and architecture runs the gamut from the 16th-century San Francisco Church to mirrored office towers. My how we loved this place. We had to bargain to get in on a busy night in high season and so agreed to eat early and vacate the table. That was fine -we were still a bit jet lagged. We opted for the dinner and wine pairing and were enthralled by the passion and enthusiasm of the waiting staff. The restaurant was alive with diners enjoying food and drink and warmth and good cheer emanates from every corner. The starter - three tiny appetisers, eg a single oyster, well matched with 3 different white wines- was divine. The main course offered a choice and a matched red- this was not quite as good - definitely rustic rather than fine dining, but wholesome and well flavoured. Dessert was stunningly presented and matched with a fruity dessert wine and a strong liquor - what a fabulous introduction to the Chilean food and wine culture - an evening to remember.Thank you for your perfect punctuation! We are glad to know that you enjoyed with us during your trip to Chile. We hope you can come back soon! Cheers!

Just round the corner from where I was staying. Great burger and then grilled chicken although I did think I was ordering a salad. The food especially the meat tastes great. The assistants do all they can to help. Is half way to fast food in ambience but is good quality food. Gracias por tu comentario , te comento ademas que somos los creadores del dÃa de la mechada, nuestra especialidad, te invitamos a probarla.

My wife and I enjoyed a dinner at Peumayen Ancestral Food in late August, 2019. I recommend the restaurant. The idea behind the restaurant, in its own words (albeit translated by Google) is that it: "combines original products, techniques and preparations of the main ancestral cultures of pre-Hispanic Chile." More on that later. We were offered two choices -- a la carte, or a 22 course tasting menu, in 4 versions: all meat, all seafood, all veggies, or a mix of the three. We went with the last. The meal started with an 8 part bread offering. Going from north to south, each bread was tied to things that grew and were used by pre-columbian cultures in 8 areas of Chile. It was very tasty, and a great start to the meal.Next came 4 appetizers. Here, the narrative broke down -- all four were really good in and of themselves, but there was no story about how these things tied to ancestral food. It didn't affect the meal, but I missed the story. There followed another 4 small main courses. Again, no narrative, and since one course was beef, it couldn't have been pre-columbian. Great food, but the story was missing. The meal finished with 6 small desserts. Again, really really good, but no explicit tie to the narrative. The wine list was imaginative, and the sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about wine. That, in and of itself, increased our enjoyment of the meal.I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant -- slightly dark, but sophisticated. For an American, the meal was really cheap. The chef here is doing great things. I'd gladly come back. To perfect the place, they just need a way to tie the food to the raison d'etre of the restaurant a little more.

We were staying in the hostel across the road so this was the first place we came to on our firs tonight in Santiago. We sat out on the may big benches in the street and were attended to by a waiter fairly swiftly in order to get some beers. We tried a few different beers, all of which were good and after seeing the pizzas we decided to have one too and they were great. Great options for relaxed and causal dining.Muchas gracias por sus comentarios y nos alegra que obtuviera una gran experiencia con nosotros.

A small restaurant in the Lasstario neighborhood near downtown, self proclaimed Pisco enthusiasts, did a terrific job presenting the menu as well as the history and traditions of Pisco. The mainly Peruvian and Chilean menu was quite extensive. I had the braised short ribs which were fabulous. The recommended wacar pisco sour tasted like more!Dear 770rayt;Thank you for your time and comments! We are very proud of your opinion, because at the hands of all the garzones were great ambassadors of the Chipeño spirit, we could create a great moment for you full of flavor and charm. We hope you can come back soon to continue enjoying and discovering all the magic of Chipeña!Cheers with Pisco !!!!

Food is excellent with strong flavors matching creative cuisine. Fair sized dishes. Wine selection is not huge (specially as they call themselves Winebar) but well sorted, including bottles from other countries.Service is attentive and knowledgeable, always with a smile on their face.

My husband and I came here while in Santiago, Chile and were extremely impressed with the food, the beer and the service. We were served by Deyvis and he was so great - spoke really good English and was extremely helpful. He took the time to read through the menu for us as it was in Spanish and tell us things to do around Chile. He also went out of his way to ensure we knew where we were going. Would definitely come back as food and beers were delicious!Gracias por sus comentarios y por destacar la atención de un integrante de nuestro equipo , esperamos que nos visites nuevamente en otra ocasión.saludos

The entire dining experience was fantastic. Beginning with the excellent, friendly service to the delicious meal, I could not ask for better. Our group of 3 had excellent meals and the wine was also very good. Gabrielle, Rodrigo, Fernando (pictured) were excellent. Missed Miguel for the picture but he belongs in there as well. I included pictures of our meals.
