We were camping in the campground below the restaurant. We decided to walk up and try it. This is a new restaurant/hostel. The property is beautiful and in excellent condition and sits on a hill overlooking Cochrane. The interior of the restaurant is warm, inviting, and in immaculate condition. In addition, you have an excellent view of the city. We had Ceviche, sampled all of the deserts, and coffee. The Ceviche was the best that I have ever had. The dessert was also excellent. We met the owner and staff who were attentive and friendly. If the hostel is anything like the restaurant, you will not be disappointed.I highly recommend this restaurant.

It might be pricey but the food is good here. They even had a really nice salad which is nearly as hard to find as a puma in Patagonia! The restaurant is big and there is a bar area attached, English is spoken widely by the staff here. There is a varied choice to eat, anything from a sandwich to a steak. We ate lunch here twice as the food was so good.
We came cycling from puerto bertran and find Rayito de sol just entering Cochrane, we fulfill all of the hungry of the trip. Great home made food at a great price and well served.

We enjoyed our meal here and it has a nice atmosphere as well. The hosts are lovely. Worth a visit if you are going through this part of the world.

Our hotel owner highly recommended the wild trout and salmon, but, when we asked about it at the restaurant, they only had frozen fish. They were out of filete, so we both ordered lomo rare (a punto). The waitress was quite helpful and courteous. They had olive oil, but no balsamic vinegar, which I consider a must-have for high-end restaurants.Appetizer was one piece each of hot Chilean bread and a dish with some cheese slices, black olives, and avellanas (similar to roasted soy nuts). The highlight was the sauces: the pepper sauce was creamy and delicious. Bob's mushroom sauce was quite good. The French fries were fine. We shared a pisco sour, which was average in our book. From the Trip Advisor rating and reviews and the high praise of our hotel host, we just expected a higher standard all around.

We rented a cabana on la isla, and went also 4 times to the restaurant. The quality of the food was very good. We liked the hospitality, the music, the friendlyness, this is Patagonia at its best. If you need a place to sleep? The owner has the best cabanas of Cochrane.
