At ELBADOC Bar Restaurant you can find breakfasts, fresh pasta (the real specialty!), aperitifs and the dish of the day! We offer a take away service, you can book and take away your meal to the sea or to your chalet or eat outside in verandah! Weekly men
We liked this little restaurant very much. The chef was very friendly, always greeted us with a big smile and few words in Russian (we are Russians) which he has learned. He always found a few moments for a chat, even when was quite busy with the cooking. He speaks English and French fluently - that helps those foreigners, who are struggling with their Italian (that's us). There was quite a good selection of pasta dishes and also one fish and one meat dish on the menu. We tried pasta and the fish - they were excellent! One evening there was a Theme Night - the chef cooked some local seafood dish, which we liked a lot. Prices were very reasonable. Also he offered take away and packed lunch services, which was a great idea. Originally we planned to eat at the restaurants in Porto Cavo, but having tried food at our restaurant on the campsite, we started going there, when not cooking ourselves. We applaud you, chef!

Overlooking the stunning harbour of Rio Marina on the island of Elba is the wonderful Ristorante Il Grigolo. The food on offer here ideally compliments the wonderful surroundings. Seafood is the king on the menu with a wide variety of dishes on offer from delectable starters that include a medley of pickled fish to a comprehensive range of main meals. My friend and I shared a superb lobster risotto while another had the seafood pasta. Finish this with an Affogato (drowned) an ice cream with an espresso coffee poured on it, and all is well with the world. All served with a fresh white wine that just brought the whole occasion to very delightful climax. The whole meal was presented wonderfully by charming and helpful staff and all at a very reasonable price. Whatâs not to like?

We enjoyed our dinner so much we returned for Lunch the next day, and the next and dinner again, too. Aperitivo, meals, service and a great relaxed atmosphere. We have visited Elba before and been around the island to many a place. This is not a fancy place, but WOW, the food is absolutely delicious. Thanks Approdo, we'll be back.

Mokambo is a unique seaside resort, a family-run enterprise established in 1957 as the fruit of one of Dantino's forward-looking dreams. The structure sits straight on the shore and extends its shaded terrace between the marina and the equipped beach. With
Ate here yesterday and would say food was extra fresh, handmade & delicious! Husband and son had pizza, daughter had pasta & I had huge dish of mussels with clams- all very good quality & generous portions. Server was awesome and worked with us as our daughter has severe food allergies. Will return again! Many locals were also eating here.

The most visited restaurant during our 10 day stay on the island. The service varied greatly from very friendly to desinterested depending on the waiter/ess. But the food was so good for the price we payed so a varied level of service was a small sacrifice. Among the favourite dishes we ate , a fantastic Pasta Nero with nuts, tomatoes, swordfish and clams, the fritto mista all Elbana , a pasta with a sauce from squid ink and our daughter had the pasta Ragu and their lasagna many times and she was always happy with an empty plate afterwards. We spent 50-70 ⬠that included wine , softdrink , espresso and water .

Tradizione e innovazione
The place is beautiful, well located, with nice interiors. The food was ok, but the flavors composition was not chosen too well. Oily, heavy and too much mint killed the fish flavour at all. The waiter explained that it was traditional minor's taste and it should be like that. Seriously?... Easy explanation for the lack of taste. the bread and antipasti saved the day. Overall: average.

Flowery Veranda Between The Pharmacy And The Fishmonger With Outdoor Tables But Protected From The Weather we will be open from march 22, 2019 saremo aperti dal 22 marzo p.v.
We had Tuscan cheeses to start, risotto con porcini (salsice) to follow, polpo in a rich wine jus as a main, but not before given a slice of toasted home baked, multi grain, bread drizzled with truffle-oil and topped with a fried quail's egg. Some of us managed a slice of almond spunge drenchd with dark molton chocolate to finish. All was served with a beautifully complimenting house wine, and strong aromatic coffee to finish. A delight to be repeated every time we visit Isola d'Elba! Thank you Giampierro!

My partner and I visited this restaurant after reading its rating on this site. I contribute regularly here and have eaten in many restaurants all over the world and am generally very happy to praise and not to moan. I am willing to accept the chef maybe had an off day or it was a new menu/chef but really second out of 495 restaurants on Elba ? We had the fish tasting menu .... nothing else on offer and was treated to the following .....raw crayfish (not well marinated) cold octopus and a cold squid dish followed by a luke warm "bean" soup with a single anchovy and a single squid ring floating in it for some reason, a luke warm pasta (crab I think, though difficult to tell, except for the inedible crab leg added as decor) and for main course two cold wafer thin slices of smoked fish on its own ( I kid you not), and finally an average chocolate brownie with a cream and fruit sauce. All for the princely sum of 95 euros with wine ( by the way if you are going to offer wine with your tasting menu, in my extensive experience, I would suggest perhaps including some of the better wines Elba has to offer and to offer your clients more than a mouthful in a glass, although come to think of it, given the quality of wine offered, then this is probably best)I would humbly suggest that the rating of this restaurant needs a review and hopefully this post will warn others to consider further.

My family and I spent the morning driving from Marina di Campo up to calm & quiet Cavo. After swimming and relaxing on the beach, we stopped at Mistral Cafe for lunch. We ordered pizza (the calzone with ricotta was extraordinary!) and had a perfect moment there in the warm, fun and cozy atmosphere of the cafe. The staff was friendly and thoroughly paying attention to their guests, talking to us and showing interest in our well-being. If we ever come back to Cavo, we will definitely come back to Mistral.
