The food was very nice, gira (kvass) is very much like the real home-made gira, except that it is a little too sweet. The terrace offeras a nice view over the lake GalvÄ, Trakai castle (partially obscured by trees) and even Užutrakis manor.
Thank god a friend got us in. My second visit. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch in the main restaurant for 12. I had the minestrone and the duck. Both excellent. My friends mostly had the halibut as a main. Again great. They have a fine wine list.We sat outside , weather perfect. The staff showed us the whole property and to say the least the rooms Are quality. We did not want to leave.

Our tour group stopped at this restaurant after a tour of Trakai castle. We had a cooking demonstration to make their signature dish, the Kibinai - a meat pie similar to a stomboli. The food was okay, but lacked seasoning/spice. You cannot beat the location - its patio faces the Trakai Island castle, and if you walk along the riverbank, it will take you to the peninsula castle grounds.

This restaurant is in a fabulous location right by the Lake and comes complete with its own resident extremely fat and contented cat! The menu is pretty extensive and comes in both English and Lithuanian with good options for both vegetarians and those who like me need gluten free food. I was surprised given the fact that it was mid July how quiet the restaurant was - apart from a large tour group I was the only other person there. I chose the Lithuanian fish stew, which came with small pieces of salmon and something called silver dollar fish which I was not familiar with. It was cooked in a delicious cream sauce with a large serving of rice and came with a large and refreshing local beer, which was just the job. Service was good, the view was wonderful and the bill was reasonable, which is really all you can ask for.

Sunday 19.00, hot day, a lot of visitors: ice is finished, no ingredients, no coctails, only one desert, no portabelo...where management is looking? Poor waitreses has to handle all this mess.

This was one of the first meals we had in Lithuania. Our guide brought us here because it was out of the way of the "touristy" area (which we wanted) and the restaurant featured classic meals prepared with Karaim recipes that were centuries old. We had a clear dumpling soup with dill and the meat pies. The soup was very light and nice; the meat pies were very filling and I could have just ordered one instead of two because they were packed with meat (one with beef and one with venison). That having been said, I found the meat pies to be rather bland. That's not meant as an insult because I appreciate the classic Karaim recipe that has not changed since before my country was discovered. But for my own personal tastes, I needed a little more flavor (salt, paprika, something!) in my meat pies. If you like foods that are very mild, then this is the place for you. I can't say that I would go back there BUT I am glad that I went because it gave me an appreciation for the traditional Karaim food.

Nice place to have a lunch at. If weather is kind is better to sit out and enjoy the lake, castle view, though indoor restaurant is more posh and good for vine and dine vibes. Personally I had crayfish bisque soup which was lovely, and I would recommend it for seafood lovers, though 3 pieces of crayfish that were in the soup was overcooked for sure. Their menu is standing out and it is different so worth to check these guys out. We had to try to catch waitress attention right at the beginning to get the table and then right at the end to get bill paid, therefore I give four stars.
