Vistited ad-hoc without TA advice before. Had Balaton fish soup with innards, fried fish, fried chicken and a schnitzel (we were a family of four). Service was bilingual (german/hungarian) as was the menue. Food was very good, frying fat not rancid, which is not a given in Hungary. Altogether with tips we paid 30.000 HUF which translates to 50Euros which is a fair price for this type and quality of food.

Tihany by winter is amazing. Balaton shows its different face. This place becomes even better when not crowded but warm and cozy with amazing food, quickly prepared. It felt like being at my grandma's diner. Don't forget to give leave your compliments in the guest book. Nagyon köszönöm értékelését.Szeretettel várjuk nyáridÅben is.

Baricska Csarda is in odd environment, between ancestor grapes in the heart of Balatonfured - from the ship harbour, and from Tagore promenade onto cca. 600 metres. From the terrace, wich is covered with the wild vine there is a magnificent view overlooks
Recommended by our Hungarian friend and full of locals....the service was very attentive and the local gypsy music (we bought the CD) was great. The food was very creative - a delicious chilled cucumber soup with cheese/dill, followed by zander from the lake with an amazing red onion/beetroot mousse on a bed of bulgar. The goulash soup was truly authentic and the pork was to die for. Sadly no room for pudding. Wines were great and local. Go go go!!

If you want to have a great view, well, this is a really good place for that, but you better not eat!Food is horrible. One of the waiters is simply stupid. Should be hidden somewhere...And this is a quite pricy place...

Some said we are alternative, but our business is very simple, we have our own bio farm (25 km from the restaurant), and we bring most of the high quality ingredients from there. Our focus is on the ingredients, "good food, no design" style means we cook
The Malackrumpli was opposite my accommodation, and since every restaurant was unknown to me, it was no matter which one I choose.. What immediately appeared to me, was the clumsy attempt to make the place to look very popular, as all of their tables had the "reserved" sign. The less would have been more credible, especially since they said I would choose where to sit. The same thing happened with the young couple who came after me. They also lurked around the many busy tables. It was quite unfortunate because it had the opposite effect, and I don't like my intellectual abilities underestimated. Otherwise, I had no problem with the restaurant. The service was quick and polite, the dishes were delicious, and about the prices, at the first moment after my arrival, I realized that whose wallet is flat shouldn't come to Tihany. I can recommend both strawberry soup with peach pieces and Mangalica liver, although I found the latter a bit hard. Nevertheless, the taste, even though the combination of the liver with letcho and fermented dill cucumber sounded strange, but in reality, it was delicious. Also was the âpiglet potatoâ with parsley, but my beer could have been colder.Dear stinkwink! Thank you very much for sharing your experience! :) We are lucky that in total you were satisfied. The reserved signs are on the tables usually when we have many reservations for later and our colleagues knows where to sit the incoming guests. Besides we get in contact with you immediately when you come in. :) We are happy that you enjoyed your meal and hope to see you back!

We came here with the children for a late lunch and it was glorious. The views are spectacular and everything we ordered was delicious. Would really recommend the gnocchi and the risotto. Steak came a little on the rare side - which was fine for us - but maybe order yours one or two higher than you normally would. (My husband's 'medium' steak came extremely bloody, but was very tender) If we were back in Tihany we would definitely eat here.

We stopped by on a blistering hot day and the mister outside was wonderful. We shared a pizza and it was very good. We had a couple of cold draft beer while looking up the stairs to the Abby. Great location next to the drop off place for the trolley train. Service was very good as were the prices.

WORST "DINNER" EVER. End of story. Avoid. Salty, cold, fat, almost not eatable. Bad smell from the kitchen. After our complaint it is bad, no reaction.

We were here for late dinner in May 2018, so the main season was just at the beginning. Not many people in any of the restaurants in Tihany. We have ordered two chicken salads, glass of wine and wheat beer called Edelweis. We get small pizza thingies aside the salads. They were really good, so we wanted to order another portion of them. Waitress said it is not possible. Well, ok, no problem.. though I would think you can be little creative if guest asks for something you don´t have on the menu... Another problem was when we ordered another pair of drinks. Waitress brought us normal Soproni beer in Edelweiss glass. My friend said it is not Edelweiss, waitress said "Oh my god" and rolled her eyes. OK, sorry for being so rude to be a guest who knows the difference between beer and beer :/ She brought the right beer and since that moment no one came to our table to ask if we want to order anything else. Only when I wanted to pay, another waitress came.It was really bad experience. I know the season is just beginning, you do not have many guests, which may made you a bit nervous, but ... hey, your guests are bringing your salary in their wallet.
