This lovely restaurant in the Word garden was recommended and was excellent. The service was charming and we were given bread with a delicious spread as an amusebouche. My husband's zanderfilet was superb. My Wiener schnitzel with spicy sauce was less successful as the sauce was a bit too 'sweet & sour'but the schnitzel was beautifully cooked as were the potato cakes. I would highly recommend this restaurant .

I have no words to describe the amazing dinner that I and my boyfriend had at this restaurant! The meals are very well done, specially the lamb courses, that are made with special care. The service is very friendly and the place is very good decorated, where u have the feeling to be in the real Bulgary. Congratulations for this kind of privilege that a village like blankenburg has the luck to have.Very very recommended.:D

Super experience in this restaurant; we were fortunate with the good weather so that we could eat outside and enjoy the environment. Very good and friendly service. Excellent food, super fresh and well presented. We will go there another time this week.

We actually visited this small, nice and cosy restaurante twice during our visit to Quedlinburg. The first time we left after 5 minutes as the restaurant was empty (at 6.30 pm) and there was no waiter to be seen... Next time there where other guests, and a waiter present. It is a small restaurante and it was 8 other guests at another table so we understood we would have to wait some time for our food. But we also had to wait for our drinks... The menu is mainly "Flammkuchen" and the wine options are limited and only by glass. The Flammkuchen was nice and so was the wine, but I would have apriciated the service to be a little more attentive and friendly.

We stayed at the hotel and after a quick walk around the town came back to the hotel to eat. We didn't want any more wurst or Schwein. We each chose a different tasting menu, well 3 courses from the tasting menu to be precise. I chose the mushroom themed menu and once we had enjoyed the amuse bouche I launched into a mushroom and scampi soup while husband had trout 3 ways. Next was salmon with mushrooms for me and venison for husband. Mine was accompanied by avert good Rhine white and the venison was partnered by an Italian red. Puddings were equally high calibre and the dessert wines amazing. This is not stodgy food but fine dining in a beautifully decorated old barn. Service was attentive and well informed. A must visit destination

I ordered the pork medallions with mushroom & cheese (maybe too much cheese) and potato croquettes, possibly a 9-. Although a very cool presentation. It was typical heavy German food hard to get thru it all. My boyfriend ordered the pork medallions & potatoes with what seemed like a pound of string beans that didnât seem to go, unless you are a huge fan of string beans. A 7 at best. The wait staff was very friendly however their command of English and our command of German was equal. So not so good..Very good value for your dollar, cash only, menu only in German and hard to translate even online as the words donât even appear.

We arrived late on a warm summer evening and took a table under the mighty chestnut trees of the Biergarten. The courteous waiter brought local riesling and silvaner from the Saale-Unstrut area and the pilsener brewed right here in the Brauerei.Delicious drinks with good friends in a charming setting = great way to wrap up a day.Bonus: interesting 200+ years of history through good times and bad.

This review is only for the restaurant - we did not stay in the apartments (but might do so next time we are here)! - Luckily for us our hotel recommended this place for dinner. Opened just 6 weeks before our visit, all is gleaming new and modern in this antique building, originally constructed in 1560. "Before and After" pictures on the wall show that very substantial effort went into converting this old building into this present-day gem. But not only the surroundings were perfect: the reception by the owner and the service throughout the evening was very cordial and pleasant. This were all mere starters for a very pleasant dinner. Everything was simply perfect: from the amuse bouche of veal over mangold to the appetizers of beet soup and home-cured salmon with fennel-orange salad to the main courses of Piccata Milanese and the Veal Medallions in Marsala sauce served with risotto and green asparagus. At that time we were more than 5 weeks into a long trip and basically had to watch our calories intake, so we toyed with the idea of not having a desert, but the owner graciously offered to create for us a small sampler of his different desert offerings: we just could not say no and were we glad again, the sampler was beautifully presented and a delight to taste! A couple of glasses of white and red wines perfectly rounded out the evening - one of our best culinary experiences of the year (and we do eat out frequently in different parts of the globe)! Congratulations to the owners and staff at this refined, very well managed and presented place!

We were on a camping touring holiday in Germany in the Harz region and we stayed at a super camp site just around the corner from the Gasthaus Forelle. The lady at the camp site recommended this restaurant. Well she was absolutely correct the atmosphere, cleanliness, service, drink and of course the Trout fish meals we had were SUPERB as was the after dinner sweets. I suppose you'd say it had a "homely" atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful. If you find yourself in the "Thale" area of Germany then this restaurant is a MUST visit, worthily recommended.
