Within the Hotel there is a 350-seat Restaurant with a winter garden, banquet room and terrace. Our menu carries the best in local dishes and International cuisine- each week there are new specials that are suited to each season and special holidays.
Sunday before lunchtime (around 11am) we went for breakfast and asked if there is still a possibity to sit down for an omelette. In the entrance they said yes but inside when we sit down to order the main waiter started to laugh and said that "breakfast should be breakfast time, now you can lunch as its lunchtime". Bahh we stood up and left without saying hello.

Restaurant Und Hotel Im Burgenland
While staying at Hotel Ohr, we ended up eating at this lovely restaurant several times. We especially enjoyed the typical German mixed salads and a house special of spaetzle with pumpkin and cheese. Delicious! Prices were good and the patio atmosphere was perfect on a late summer evening!!

Actually we were sailing into Rust and started our tour off at Seehotel Rust, were we left our boat. From there it was just a few minutes walk into the center of Rust where you may find this restaurant. We decided to eat there as it lies within a nice place which makes you feel comfortable. Of course we already expected it to be some sort of touristic as well because of its location but on rare occasions residents want to feel like strangers as well ;-)We made use of the "Schanigarten" in front of the restaurant which was sheltered with awnings, which was useful as it started to drizzle lateron. The (hungarian) waiters were due to the fact that they work in a touristic area still quite nice (but not more than necessary) and drinks were served immediatly after ordering. Even for the food we had not to wait very long. We had Zander, Tafelspitz, a small Pizza and chicken nuggets. The fish was o.k., but the Semmelkren of the Tafelspitz was not good at all and I was more than disappointed about that, as it usually has a very good taste. Even the Tafelspitz itself was not what I expected. At least with the chicken nuggets they didn't do anything wrong. The Pizza was quite o.k. as well. Actually tastes are different but with some dishes, like Tafelspitz, you simply have to reach a certain standard. Another aspect which showed that it was not a "real" Austrian restaurant: we had to pay for additional "Ketchup" extra (⬠0,60), which is usually never the case in restaurants. I found this really poor when I spotted it on the invoice lateron. All in all we paid ⬠60,-- for 2 adults and 2 small kids. After all I would not go there again as there are a lot more restaurants and Heurige in Rust to visit which are typically Austrian (or better call it "typical for Rust") and have excellent food and friendly service.Anyway you may check their homepage: www.haydnkeller.at

A well located restaurant. We sat at a table near the courtyard entrance. This was much brighter and attractive than the main seating under cover. The service was good and we started with a salad followed by chanterelle tagliatelli. We drank the local sturm, a lightly fermented grape juice, it looks and tastes like a good cloudy homemade lemonade with a grape flavour, it is served in a small glass tankard. Beware although only around 4%, it is too easy to think you are drinking lemonade and it is very moreish. It is only available for a short period after the grape harvest.

On a lovely evening we walked in just by accident, at the end we have been satisfied more than expected. The menu offers a wide Variation of local Food. The dishes all were delicious, the pricing is fair, stuff friendly and helpful. You can sit ouside, inside and also in the lovely Patio. Just go for it...

The Taubenkobel restaurant is one of the best in the country. And for those who are hesitant to enter such spheres, the light version in the form of a pretty bistro is just the ticket. Unique in the world: a cosmopolitan haven in a small village in Burgen
Of course food is somewhat subjective, I think Obauer and Landhaus Bacher are a step up in comparison, when it comes to Austrian find dining. We had the general lunch menu and the big set menu and both were good and interesting, but failed to "wow". The Sommelier was super nice and his recommendations were unique and excellent. Breakfast at the "Greisslerei" was a highlight. Greisslerei is very cute, maybe also an excellent dinner bet. The room we stayed in was nice, the back yard and the small swimming lake are fantastic and peaceful. It is truly odd and annoying that you can only pay with credit cards for Taubenkobel, but not in the Greisslerei and not for the EUR 290 Euro hotel room.

We came to this restaurant with my wife and our 3 year old daughter after reading some nice reviews. The location and setting was beautiful. It was strange to see that the people arriving after we did were placed first and they right away got the menu and took their order for drinks. While we were looking the menu we asked 3 times to order drinks. Not only they did not take our order, they brought drinks to guests came after us. It was somewhat roudy place with big groups of people speaking at the tables. Our daughter was listening to kid's music on a low volume (15% on iphone) - hardly noticable. The waiter came to us but instead of taking our order she strictly ordered us to switch it off. And if we can not immediately switch it off, it is better if we go somewhere else.... This arrogance left us no doubt to leave immidiately... super rude peopleDear Akos! You came to our restaurant and I placed you. First your wife took some pictures with her camera, from the restaurant and from the garden. So I waited until your wife came back. In the meantime I took the order from the other guests. Then I brought a small chair for your little daughter and translated the menu. During the translation was your daughter playing music with the mobil phone (and it was sometimes very loud, not 15% as you wrote) and I told you that this is not possiblebecause of the other guests. You tried to take away the mobil phone from your daughterbut you realized very quickly that she would cry if you take it away. I told you a second time that she had to switch it off. After this YOU said that it would be better to go to another restaurant. Sorry, but playing mobil phone is disturbing, weather in the restaurant or on another place were people want to have their rest. Everyone knows this. Best regards, Susanne Pilz

As Heurigenrestaurants go, this is upscale. It is in the garden of a regular restaurant. Peter Schandl also produces a good variety of reasonably priced superior wines. The restaurant was recommended by several local people. It is a good idea to make reservations, which we did on our second visit. The garden restaurant is a busy place with mostly 6 or 8 person tables. Expect to share your table with strangers. More often than not, we find this a pleasant experience, especially for tourists and travelers alike. One couple with whom we shared a table on our first visit, we met again in two other restaurants later in the week.We tried several local specialties and were surprised at the quality of the preparation and the appearance. Now, this is not a Michelin 3 Star, but the food is very good. We have seen much better service, but here it was friendly and rushed.

I was there before Christmas and ordered a steak medium. The steak was just as requested and the waiter also recommended a good local red wine for me. Dear Guest,Thank you for the kind review. We even improved our steaks, know we source from local suppliers fresh meat for the steaks from one of the most re-known ranches in Hungary for their Aberdeen Angus meat.We are looking forward to your next visit!Best regards,Pal Szilagyi, director
