The menu in Avtentichno is small but everything is fresh. Had fried yellow cheese sticks for starters and beef meatballs as a main. Everything tasted delicious, was very happy. Service was also surprisingly (For Bulgaria) excellent, real effort to communicate in English and seemed genuinely happy to see you. Very warm welcome. Will definitely be back, especially with the quality and the prices they offer.

Original cuisine and meals prepared with love and passion!
5 Oct Shtastlivetsa. Visited for Saturday lunch with two girlfriends in the upstairs restaurant, which is a beautifully decorated gallery landing style 1st floor with pretty floral decoration in the middle. The dining room style is classy and a little funky with some interesting sofas and benches at some tables. We spent 3 hours having a long, boozy lunch, trying many (far too many, our fault!) of their delicious dishes and left very satisfied and very full! They have copies of the extensive menu in English and everything is very clearly described so it's very easy to choose. All the dishes we tried were excellent, washed down with a lovely local pale Rose wine. Highly recommend this restaurant, located in the modern part of town on a smart pedestrianised street.

This is a bizarre restaurant in terms of the decor, but it works! Definitely adds to the sense of history about the place. The food was delicious! It was recommended by a colleague and weâre glad we listened. The pork fillets are spectacular, the ribs too are delicious! Try the bread, itâs a specialty and itâs stunningly delicious!

First time here, and apparently was highly recommended and had a great reputation. It is simply the best place in Sofia, i have been in and around bulgaria with work since 2012.The staff, food, quality and the wine is second to none, a lovely ambience. With this means itâs not the cheapest place however worth every penny.Superb steaks,All 4 of my party had different starters, moans and desserts and we were all blown away. Only one warning to créme brûlée is awful, and apparently they always undercook this despite it being mentioned many times and it comes very wet and slightly ârawâ

Great choice of wine to compliment your lunch / dinner. One of Sofia's hidden gems! A must visit for any foodie in town. Fresh seasonal ingredients cooked to perfection! Hats off to the chef - must visit! Great and high quality food and amazing experience
We visited Nikoâlas two weeks ago on a family reunion dinner. Itâs a cozy family run restaurant with a great sense of hospitality and eye on details. It was a pleasing experience because of chef Tsvetomir Nikolov and his bespoke culinary creations merging Asian savours in Bulgarian traditional dishes. We ordered the 5-course tasting menu which finally turned into 8 perfect plates accompanied with pairing wines of small Bulgarian wineries.I provide some pictures of them as I couldnât follow all surprises which came from the kitchen of chef Nikolov.Thank you so much for your kind review. We'll be glad to welcome you again

Cozy, boutique restaurant in the very heart of Sofia. The restaurant is located in a 3-floor house with a sunny and quite front garden. The menu is short, but each meal is carefully selected to meet the highest expectations for taste, creativity and prese
This was our second visit to Aubergine and canât recommend it highly enough. We started with the houmous selection with bread. Very generous portions and the waitress brought us extra bread. For our main course I had the ribs and my partner had pork cheeks. Both were delicious. The generous portion of cheeks were succulent and melt in the mouth. The ribs were very meaty, very tasty and again melt in the mouth. It is a quirky building with lots of little rooms and an outside area. The rooms are nicely decorated in a modern style. We were eating early evening, they fitted us in. You would normally need to book a table as it seems very popular. In twelve years of visiting Bulgaria we have had some loverly meals but Aubergine been our favourite so far.Highly recommended!!
