Find out what Central European restaurants to try in Sindelfingen. Standing about 10 miles southwest of Stuttgart and now known mostly as an automobile industry center (especially for DaimlerChrysler and Smart), Sindelfingen has a long history, some of which can still be witnessed firsthand. The Romanesque St. Martin’s Church dates from the 11th century, while the old Rathaus (city hall) is now the municipal museum. Other Altstadt (old town) sites include the unique Schwätzweiber (gossiping women) statue and the Fachwerkhäusern (half timbered houses).

Okay, so I do not speak German, but luckily they have English menus to describe the great food offerings and have daily specials for only 9.50 Euro. Tuesday is "Schnitzelday" an Thursday is "Beefday." This place is easily in walking distance from most of the hotels on Mahdentalstrasse. From the Marriott Sindelfingen, it is only five minutes. I met up with a family who had also just reported in to Stuttgart, who I hadn't seen since 2014. The restaurant offers a variety of steak options, pork dishes, and even some smaller warm and cold plates depending on how hungry you are. My friends opted for the onion roast with friend potatoes and the onion roast beef with cheese spätzle. Both were decent portions with lots of gravy. The kids had a small breaded pork cutlet with fries, Hawaii toast with ham and pineapple, and the baked and fried camembert cheese with cranberries. This last dish was awesome. I selected the pork grilled filet with cheese spätzle and creamy pepper gravy with a side of maultasche, which is a ravioli of sorts filled with turkey and beef. It was excellent. The dessert menu is difficult to choose from as there was nothing but goodness with lots of pictures. The kids split a ice cream sundae with black forest cherries. Not a drop was left! My wife had the apple strudel, which looks wundebar! Me, I had another heffeweissen for dessert! We are all coming back on Thursday.

Get out of the hotel and enjoy an authentic dinner at local restaurant Fassle. Very friendly wait staff, good German beer and Swabian specialties. We both ordered the Jagerschnitzel, prepared "hunter style": pork cut into bite sized pieces in a gravy with spatzle. Delicious. They offered an apple strudel and ice cream desert that looked very tempting, but the large main course left no room for desert! Located right on the Marketplatz in the center of Sindelfingen. Note - even though Trip Advisor refers to it as "Gaststatte Fassle", the sign only says "Fassle".

Staying in a hotel nearby we Walker to the cost Market place and went to this restaurant, where the staff prepared 2 tables for us. We could order easily and were served delicious Camembert/ or Schnitzel-dishes. A lot of goodness was served short after ordering. I arrived late, but was still able to order, at 22:00. Thank you. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with leasant & professional service.

Altstadtlokal Funzel is located in the center, close to hotels, bus and S-Bahn. The rations are huuuuuge, so 3 can easily share for 2. Very good value, e.g. Spätzle for 1,5 persons (!) for 11 Euro... The food is very good, typical German, served quickly and with a smile. An not to mention the beer ....

Very authentic western Czech food. Try the Szegedin - Bohemian Goulash or the Svickova - Czech version of Sauerbraten, the Hradcany - Turkey breast with a cheese sauce and the Amalka Rumpsteak (Sirloin) covered with ham and melted Brie or Camembert. They also had a special of Schweine Haxen (Pork Knuckle) roasted to tender perfection with the skin crispy and the fat easily removed. We were a family group of 5 and brought the left overs home. We literally ate two more meals from what was left over. The owner is Czech and was visible all the time, making sure all was well. They also have the original Budweiser (Budva) and Pilsner Urquell on draft and a good selection of schnaps and spirits. After we finished with our dinner the owner offered a free round of Schnaps, which we had to decline, because we had enough alcohol for the night. He then insisted on free coffee, espressos or cappuccinos. We left happy and satisfied. They have indoor and outdoor seating in the summer. Total cost for 5 including tip was 180 Euro.Parking is available across the street in front of a park.

Had a great meal here last Friday. Interior is very cozy (it was cold out), decorated with German National Team soccer memorabilia. Waitresses were bustling about serving great looking food. Food was German (schnitzels and pork roasts/steaks) but also beef specialties. Our dinners were generously sized and delicious. Prices reasonable. It was a bit noisy, but the restaurant was completely full and there was a large party near us. Definitely make reservations. There was a very small bar.

The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. The waitress was kind and did not rush us. The restaurant has farm fresh food and can be expensive, but their lunch specials offer generous portions at a very competitive price. The fish was fresh and was served with a large salad and soup. I will be returning!
