Within walking distance of our vacation rental in Urbar, we went to the biergarten for lunch the day we arrived in Germany. A couple of us had the Gulaschsuppe, and as an impromptu contest continued to order the dish whenever it appeared on the menus of other restaurants during our subsequent three weeks in Bavaria. By far, the chef at the Loreleyblick Maria Ruh makes the best Gulasch! The keys to this success are the consistent dicing of the ingredients and the marvelous balance of spices.Another evening we came back to the restaurant for dinner and had a delicious meal including a regional blood sausage dish. We sat outside overlooking the beautiful Rhine valley and the Loreley rock, enjoying our lovely desserts.

If you visit Oberwesel this restaurant is a must! Super food, great wine, and friendly service all at a very reasonable price. The interior is old world weinstube charming. Or you can dine outside in the lovely garden. We will definitely go back again....and again! I particularly liked the goat cheese salad!

Having stayed here three times, it is clear we like the place! The quality and presentation of the food are outstanding! True for dinner and breakfast both! The setting, outside high above the Rhine on the scenic terrace of the restaurant( or,if inclement, also lovely in fine old atmospheric dining rooms full of character) only enhance the ding experience. Top quality service!

We took the ferry over from St. Goarshausen just to look around. This is a great location, with a nice sitting area to enjoy the river view with lunch. The food was fairly good, even if overpriced, but the service left something to be desired. The lady who waited on us seemed very impatient and we felt rushed to leave. We paid her no mind and enjoyed our meal anyway.

We ate several times at am Markt because we stayed two nights at the hotel. Breakfast came with the room and was a good version of German hotel fare: boiled eggs, various cold cuts, cheeses, yogurts, hot and cold cereals, cakes, breads, juice, and coffee. The last two items are served. US customers might wish for bacon and other kinds of eggs. The dinner menu is extensive. We can vouch for the fresh trout, the creamed herring, and the pork and mushrooms over noodles. The trout was a sturdy 14â and baked whole. The pork was tender and the mushroom sauce just right. The rest of the menu offered beef, chicken, pork schnitzels, fish, and vegetarian options. The wine list was also good. This is the region for Riesling, so we drank two bottles of local dry version, one at the low end of the price range (about Euros) and one of the best they offered. The latter was a Blanc de noir at about 16 Euros. Both were well chilled and good value. Others we met recommended the restaurant as the best value in St. Goar.

The location of the restaurant is fantastic, overlooking the magnificent Rhine River on which we had cruised from Bingen. Lucky enough to be there on a lovely day with pleasant service and good food a feeling of gemutlichkeit sank in. However, on paying with a â¬50 note for our bill of ⬠40.60, the waitress smiled and walked away. I had to call her back to inquire about the change whereupon she smiled sweetly and said that she assumed it was a tip. Maybe some rich patrons tip 25% but I am not in that league so had to gently request that she return â¬5 , rather embarrassing for me, but.......

The Keutmann restaurant isn't all that large, though it has an ourdoor terrace with umbrellas for when the weather is good. The variety of menu items is large, particularly for a restaurant of this size, and a vegetarian could be happy. Anyone should be able to find multiple items from which to select a meal. There is even a complete version of the menu in English. Waitstaff pleasant, helpful, and quick. Anyone considering the nearest hotel-restaurant more or less across the street would likely be disappointed in the menu, the food, and the staff. We have stayed at the Keutmann and had meals there on four occasions since 1986; we think it's a winner.

We stopped here for lunch while driving from Kloster Eberbach to Koblenz. It had been a rather circuitous route because sections of the road along the river were closed for roadworks. I chose the goulash. It was very good, packed with flavour. My wife chose the schnitzel and said it was one of the best she had eaten. Service was prompt and the waiter very friendly. The restaurant was decorated with memorabilia and was very clean, as were the toilets.There were some nice views of the river to enjoy before we continued our journey.

Very popular restaurant offering the type of reasonably priced dishes which are widely available in the area. Space inside is rather limited with many tables outside but they found us some bar chairs and a high table. Food was fine and we enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Unusually, they accepted a credit card payment without charging extra.

My friend and I had dinner here when we were staying in Sankt Goar. The food was fresh and flavourful, quantities were good and the price was reasonable. We both had the daily asparagus special that included soup and dessert. We both enjoyed it.
