Find out what Central European restaurants to try in Luneburg. Lüneburg (officially the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg, German: Hansestadt Lüneburg, pronounced [ˈhanzəʃtat ˈlyːnəbʊɐ̯k], Low German Lümborg, Latin Luneburgum or Lunaburgum, Old High German Luneburc, Old Saxon Hliuni, Polabian Glain), also called Lunenburg in English, is a town in the German state of Lower Saxony. Nice place with German food and drinks. A lot of choice and variety. Enjoyable atmosphere and staff. Not crowded as in downtown. No menu in English and Russian but it is fun to explore and order. Next visit to Luneburg I will be back. Thanks. I really like it!

Overall this restaurant is excellent. I would recommend sitting outside during the summer for excellent views of the Ilmenau River and the old crane. The food is tasty, and the only downside to the restaurant is that the menu is smaller than others in the city, so it may be harder to find something to please everyone.

Enjoy Regional specialties and classics in the restaurant "Marina Cafe" and the associated summer terrace - overlooking the river Ilmenau and the 500 year old water tower. Late in the evening snacks and refined cocktails are served in the Piano Bar. The n
We had a 3-days seminar at Bergström's and were obliged to eat here and in Restaurant Canoe. All food and daily flat rates are relatively expensive and didn't match at all my eypectations. Let's talk about the positives first: Great location and broad varieties for breakfast and lunch. This is standard!Room for improvement: Many dishes were industrial convenience food. All poultry was extremely dry and not eatable. Porc - as further offer - not preferred by myself. All beef at buffet was well done. So was fish - dry. Vegetables tasteless. Sum-up: Quantity does not meet Quality. Fruit for breakfast were canned fruits or melons (I don't like, inappropriate). No fresh seasonal fruit - in apples, pears, peaches and grapes season - available as freshly prepared fruit salad. 2 bowls with curd, no yoghurt. I complained. Answer from service was: "We are not guilty, the chefs are responsible for that!" Again sorry, I do expect by far more from a 4-S-star Romantik-Hotel!

We sat right overlooking the river, great ambience and view of the old crane and buildings. Food was plentiful and simple, but very well cooked as is the German way. The tables were a little cramped but to be honest, the ambience was worth it. It was busy, but service was friendly and helpful.

We had burger and chips as it was listed in the menu as "homemade". Which it was. The menu is pretty standard German fare with a couple of favourites such as the burgers we had. Well presented and tasty, this is more of a "ad hoc" meal out rather than a special occasion but with prices to match. A decent enough place for a casual dine out. Many thanks for your review. We hope to welcome you back - one day.Greetings from the Lanzelot-Team

We visited Lüneburg and enjoyed our meal, until the moment of payment came. In 2018 it is totally unacceptable for restaurants not to accept foreign Master- or Visa cards. Not even German Visa cards, only cash payments. And customers are not warned in advance. They are obviously expected to run off to the next ATM and get cash, paying the same amount to their bank.In Sweden that is unthinkable to instruct your service staff to explain that, because of the costs, that kind of service is not included. In that case the prices should be raised with 3% and cash payers should get a discount instead. But that is not allowed, and so is to keep a shadow bookkeeping for cash payments from foreigners. The tax office is not allowing that. Not in Sweden and not in Germany. Shame on you. Those practices are over; not adjusting your service creates only tax-traps for stupid Swedes who happen to visit your town and go home with an very bitter after taste.

It is advisable to reserve in advance, the first evening we walked in at 5.30pm we tried in vain. The steaks were very well done ("medium-well" to the point). The salad bar was a plus. The service was good despite all tables (at least on the lower floor) being occupied. The only negative: if the restaurant is fully booked, then it can get crowded at the salad bar. It is not very spacious. Otherwise nice atmosphere. All in all very good value for a not too expensive steakhouse.

Nice place for a drink on the lovely terrace and enjoy the view of the market and its people walking around.Friendly staff and good quality/price balance. One of the waiters looks exactly like the young Johnny Depp: so funny :-)

We asked our concierge for a recommendation, and true to form a very proud cologner delivered one of her local favourites. This was a wonderful welcoming pub, with a great raucous atmosphere, wonderful service, and a good level of offerings and English language. Even vegan friendly, and gluten free offerings.Yes, there is a meet bias, and wine offerings are limited, but it simply works if you go with the flow.Important local tip.. if you finish your beer and don't want another cover glass with coaster, lest it will be immediately refilled!
