Reviews on Central European food in Lech, Austrian Alps, Austria. Glitzy Lech is one of Austria's most moneyed resort towns. Pricy, posh palaces abound, but this ostentatious, old-school winter wonderland has accommodations and a place on the pistes for all budgets. Popular since the 1920 and 1930s, this former farming town has managed to retain its original character and charm. Its somewhat isolated location forces an often tricky drive in inclement weather but also is part of what appeals to celebrity admirers. Nearest airports are Zurich and Innsbruck.

Built in 1780, it housed the Alpine dairy house and Zugâs schoolhouse for a long time. At the same time, naturally. Last summer, we respectfully restored the historic building and gave it a new lease of life: today, the Rote Wand Schualhus invites all tho
We spent a week here with the family. Of course extremely expensive: Lech and vacation period. You need to swallow this. Friends had warned me that the place would be nouveau riche and Schickimicki but while there were some characters overall the atmosphere was friendly and unassuming. Mostly Families with kids as it was the school holidays - if you don't like action over dinner, go visit at another time. The kids club and the pool were a hit with our youngster. There is a ski rental and shop in the hotel cellar, the ski bus stops in front of the house (10minutes to Lech). Alternatively you can go up with the local Zug lift and avoid all crowds. Food is a highlight, you need to do serious sport and workout not to leave several pounds heavier. Service was very strong, personal never intrusive, really friendly. A very well Run place.

The Krone-Stuben à la Carte Restaurant: Fine Dining at the Arlberg The kitchen team at your five star hotel in Lech, the Romantic Hotel Krone, are truly masterful: dining experiences fit for kings and queens can be enjoyed at the award-winning gourmet res
The menu in the main hotel is a bit fussy for our taste but the Aprés bar outside is well worth a visit if nothing else but to watch the well heeled Austrians downing magnums of Bolly! Service can be frustratingly slow at busy times.Thank you for being patient with the wait during rush hour. We will pay attention to the fact that the wait takes only as long as the joy remains. Greetings form Lech, Johannes Pfefferkorn

It is traditional. And it is all the more comfortable. Our Walser Parlour thus is the ideal room for a delightful evening with Austrian specialities or a fondue. It simply tastes better in the right ambiance.Opening hours: During winter season (mid Dezemb

A beautiful contemporary wooden restaurant in a great location. There is always something going on here including a DJ on top of a snow plough. The ingredients used in dishes are of superior quality to most places on the mountain. All staff are excellent.Great place to chill out in a deck chair.

A cosy mountain restaurant situated above Lech am Arlberg with its own alpine dairy. It serves traditional snacks and dishes made from local products in best quality. In winter it's situated right next to the slopes in the ski resort Ski Arlberg - slightl
The views are fabulous on a clear day. Just a short distance from the top of the kriegerhorne.Great outside tables to contemplate the view while supping an alcohol free beer (other beers are available) or a coffee/tea.Cheerful waitresses in Austrian costume.

Ate here a couple of times last week on both occasions they allowed dogs in the restuarant on the 1st occasion the dog was a few tables away but on the second occasion it was under the table next to us and had a coughing fit and I thought it was going to be sick, not very nice when you are eating really put me of my meal why allow dogs in a restuarant unbelievable!!Despite the dog problem the food was reasonably good not as good as previous years and the menu is a little limited.Won't bother going back next year when we visit Lech.

Had a great evening here! Small, old house with tons of ambience.Super crowded and still service was excellent. Good, honest food. Meat seems to be the thing in Austria, and the meat eaters were more than happy. Vegetarians have a harder time, but it can be done with modifications. Also nice to sit outside for a drink when weather permits.

Eaten here several times for lunch. Good pizzas with nice crispy bases plus a mix of Austrian standards and salads. Great place to watch skiing events on their huge screen and have a decent beer on apres ski

This is the last mountain restaurant before skiing into Lech.We used it every night to start our apres ski. Very nice building inside and on the terrace. Waiters are super friendly. Raw materials of food and drink high quality. Unfortunately the gastronomie nights on Tuesday and Thursday were fully booked.
