The hotel is close to the Car Ferry and overlooks the Rhine
We visited on a holiday weekend and parking was not available but we were able to park close enough to the room. We did not have much of a view but that was ok since we didn't spend that much time in the room. Nice property for the price.

Found this one evening and the gentleman was quite apologetic because they weren't serving food that evening. However we went back the next night as we were not disappointed. To our limited knowledge, the menu appears typically german, so sausages, goulash, bratwurst and I tried something that sounded like a German version of haggis which tasted wonderful.WE wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place.

I think the name should be Antonius Stube (two words). And I would also put the location as Bad Salzig, not Boppard. But however you spell the name, this is a very highly recommended restaurant/bar.For £22 (combined), we had a large and delicious dinner consisting of a main course each (I can recommend the Gypsy Pork Steak) and "big beer" (pint).Go and eat at 'Antonious Stube' - it is a friendly, warm and welcoming bar and as said above, the food was delicious and filling. Cannot say how good dessert would have been, as we were too full to try! Sadly, the bar was closed on Tuesday evening, so we were unable to thank them for their hospitality over the previous two nights. They cater for both smokers and non-smokers, with an area for each. Being Germany (state legislation overruled EU smoking directives), smoking is allowed in bars. But when we first ate here, the front bar was set out as non-smoking (until an ignorant group from the UK asked if they could smoke there), with the back bar being set over to smoking. But on the second night there were locals smoking in the front bar. That said, it didn't seem to linger in the air, despite being a small bar.Our faltering attempts at German were appreciated - no need with the waitress who spoke good enough English, but making the effort to say "please", "thank you", "good evening", "good night" and so on doesn't take much... but does show a little respect for the friendly hosts. If you stay in Bad Salzig, try Antonius Stube... we would have eaten there three nights in a row if they had been open. It was that enjoyable.

The restaurant Le Bristol unites, what constitutes our entire hotel. This is where the imagination of the Art Nouveau and the creativity of the Belle Epoque meet each other. The restaurant is located on the ground floor opposite to the reception. Here the
Service is slow to poor. Clearly understaffed. Food very reasonably priced but nothing special. Formal but hardly fine dining. It serves their clientele well which seems to be old retirees in the vast proportion who are clearly returnees.Dear Marcobatuta, thank you for visiting our restaurant âLe Bristolâ and your personal feedback. We are happy that your visit has been a satisfying experience.Everything we serve in our restaurants is cooked freshly with high quality products from mostly regional suppliers. Like you, we think our prices for the menus and dishes are reasonable and fair. In the restaurant âLe Bristolâ we serve 3- and 4-course menus with several choices. Our Fine Dining restaurant is the restaurant âLe Chopinâ, where we offer classics, a regional menu and a 7-course degustation menu. If the service was slow, we would like to apologize. That, of course, should not happen. Please be our guest again, if you ever revisit the beautiful town of Boppard.Sincerely yours,Family Gawel

My husband and I weren't super hungry when we came across this restaurant, but we decided to share a meal and have a beer and wine. We shared the kohlrabi and potato dish and oh my! I've never had cooked cooked kohlrabi, but it was fantastic. I was told from another couple (locals I believe) that the food was all sourced locally. The portions from other guests looked huge, so we too the cue and shared a meal. It was more than enough. There is seating indoors and outdoors. The outdoor view is on the Rhine and lovely.

Recommended by the great winemaker Klaus Wehrheim master of dessert wines from the Rhine.Excellent restaurant home cooked specialities as well as asparagus based menu. Warm family service. A bit overworked however and given the fact they are running a cash business they could hire an extra server on busy nights.Good sized room with river view. Clean and silent 80â¬.Breakfast could use some homemade jams and patisserie but tin foil packed jams and butter are unfortunately the norm in Germany.Reserve in advance fills up quick; site and nearby scenery and landscape are breath taking.

Enough said about this moment in time. Each night when we looked out our window onto the Rhein; we were greeted with those starlight stars glistening like diamonds in the sky while enjoying the expanse of the River Rhein and her tug boats passing through; trains choo chooing into the night. And I wandered if I was going to ever meet the house ghost! We never did; but it made for playful conversation. This part of Germany along the Rhein has experienced the French German struggle; the Protestant Catholic struggle, so they say the ghost from the past are present.... Supposedly there was a feud back in the day between this castle and the Burg Leibenstein over the love and heart of a women. One of the brothers went to fight in the wars and upon his return; the women had taken up household with the brother. They say her ghost is there too....

Before heading back to the states we decided to go to this hidden gem weâve heard so much about from relatives. Long story short - food was spectacular, everything from the salad to the veal ragu to the off-menu schnitzel the charismatic owner prepared for us. Ambience was terrific, old vintage wood in a timeless mill, friendly restaurant patrons, cozy setting, and a very accommodating wait staff. Highly recommend to anyone traveling near the Boppard/Koblenz area. If the owner is reading this....please open a restaurant in Boston!

New German and international cuisine in an historical ambiente. Great choice of wine, draught beers. Lunch stop for groups on request.
We had dinner; wiener schnitzel veal for me and instead of fries I had a beautiful large salad. My husband had the special tender beef cheaks with rosemary potatoes. He could not believe how tender the beef was, using only his fork! Wonderful service, wine, beer and meal. Highly recommend!

We struggled a few times to get a seat at this popular restaurant, but finally slotted in on Tuesday night, though we shared a table German style with a Scottish couple. We both had the pumpkin soup, and then she had Spare ribs and I had Cordon Blue. Good and service excellent.Wir können uns gut an sie erinnern - vielen Dank für Ihren Besuch!! Bitte kommen Sie bald erneut zu uns!
