We dined here for dinner and then again for breakfast. The restaurant is really popular. Regular Swiss prices but very good service by all staff. We had the pea soup which was delicious. Then a super vegetarian pizza loaded with fresh veggies.The breakfast buffet is simple but very nice. Good coffee. Compliments to waiter Alex who made sure everything was fine. He was really polite and friendly and is certainly an asset to this restaurant.And the location.....right on the water was lovely and the tables were set beautifully.Dear Chris GThank you very much for your kind and excellent review. Stayed in the hotel for 5 days in September 2015.The restaurant offers great (mostly Swiss) food, friendly staff and a good choice of wine.However, as with many Swiss restaurants, at a price.Breakfast buffet rather limited.The views are stunning - hence the pricetag.Would go back, in combination with hotel, anytime.

The Bodensee is a wonderful area to enjoy dinner in the summer. The Seerestaurant in Rorschach is good for that. The view on the lake is very nice and you can enjoy the view from inside or outside. The service and the food were good. I had the curry-coconut milk soup as a starter and a southern risotto (veggie). Both were fine. The draft beer was not really good though.

Wir kamen wegen eines Besuches in der Nähe hierher. Das Restaurant typisch für diese Gegend, aussen schlicht und gepflegt, innen die typischen niederen Räume, liebevoll renoviert und dekoriert. Der Empfang durch den Service, nett, freundlich und kompetent. Die Mittagskarte klein aber fein. Es gab ein drei/vier Gänge Menü und auch separate einzelne Menüs je mit Salat oder Suppe und zwei lokale Desserts z.B. heute Schlorzifladen (mit cremigem Dörrbirnen Mouse drinnen, einfach herrlich). Die Menügrössen mässig, aber man kriegt noch Nachschlag, also Nachfragen und nicht nachher klagen über zu kleine Portionen.

Staff seems to be overwhelmed! orders are not carried out precisely (brought me the wrong wine 3 times, forgot the water) Food is average - prices are high. they do not seem to be prepared for serious business - hopefully only beginners struggles

Great service, great wild game dishes variety, reasonably priced when compared with other Switzerland restaurant prices. Superb service. Hotel layout a bit cramped, they do get quite a crowd after 9pm with a cozy, local bar in the premises.

We were invited in this Resturant by our swiss friend, the foods were absolutely great, the view was stunning and the service was very good. Steak and their special chicken were delicious but they didn't have English menu but it was Highly recommended.

We have been invited to stay at the Gupf for one night including aperitif, dinner and Monday Morning Breakfast (closed on Monday). Excellent food, best in class service with and a vine list that struck you. Vine cellar is breathtaking and a paradise for all vine lovers. And what is good food and superb vine without a good service? Would be nothing and this was the point of excellent... best in class service! Congrats!

Eat there with some friends to celebrate a birthday. Staff was friendly and helpful!Unfortunately the food was pretty tasteless, not really seasoned and disappointingly "usual"!As we mentioned this to the waiter, they explained that this was done purposely so the actual food could be tasted. I could have that at home if I wanted to - much cheaper!
