Had a six course gourmet dinner, plus extras, and accompanying wine menu. The meals fully met our expectations for a well trasting dinner. It was not as experimental as you may see in a lot of restaurants these years, but was simply one of the best tasting experiences I have had in a long time.

This restaurant was a great find, my husband and I were staying a couple of days in Gluecksburg and stumbled across it, The service was fantastic, the food so good that when we revisited the area with other Australian friends we took them back there. Our friends were as impressed as we were with the food, atmosphere and service, great job. I wish you were closer to home, however you made our visit to your lovely area memorable.

The restaurant had a nice view - you can kick back and enjoy a beer or two as you watch the sea. I just had the beer which was quite cheap - about Euro 3 for a pint.

Fakkelgaarden is a historic place with a great atmosphere. You feel welcome from the first touch points with the staff, which are highly skilled and professional. The restaurant is on gourmet level and defiantly in top 10 in Denmark. Also compared to northern Germany Fakkelgaarden is one of the most visits. The kitchen varies the menu due to the saison and the are experienced in getting the absolute maximum out of the raw materials. Every dish gets explained in front of you table on both Danish, German and English. Most visit - you mouth/stomach won't regret.

Adding to my older Review some more things you might find useful:The menu is on the Website and changes daily due to what is on stock. Their kitchen is part of the experience with a drink to start and you can see them working and preparing the dishes. No deep frozen Food at all (no place to stock it) and what is bought on a day is used on that day for the menuReservations required due to the System.Fully worth the small detour from the main Highway.
