Very nice servants on a warm tuesday evening in the Biergarten of Pfungstädter Brewery. All produced beers are on the menu as well as German Specialties but als Burgers and Flammkuchen. We had a Jalapeno Burger with hash browns, Vegetables Pan, Chicken Nuggets, a side salad. Everything was delecious and not too fat, the stuff and the kitchen were really fast. And at the end of our stay our Girl got a double chocolate ice for free....reasonable Prices, good Quality and nice People....nothing to complain about!!

We have been to this tiny restaurant twice and both times were excellent. The interior is cozy with a Mom and Pop feel. The service is impeccable - efficient and friendly with no hectic. The menu offers traditional Austrian dishes prepared to current standards. Ingredients are top quality and fresh. My husband and I have tried the pumpkin soup, T- Bone steak and veal stroganoff as specials, and the salmon pasta from the regular menu. Everything was perfectly prepared, the amuse bouche and salads excellent and very good local and Austrian wines. Bring an appetite as portions are generous. Would give 4 1/2 stars if I could!

This was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was first rate, plentiful and affordable. I had the Rattsherren Schnitzel, which was covered with mushrooms and cheese baked over top. Amazing! My mom had the Flammkuchen, which I tasted of course, also amazing! My Dad had the Pfefferrahm Schnitzel, which I also had to taste, another winner! We also had their Paulaner Dark beer, which my Dad can't stop raving about, of course I liked it too! My parents live nearby, I come to visit them and look forward to a traditional german meal out and this one ranks up way high on my list of favourites locally.

Modern hospitality paired with a creative but still dowm-to-earth cuisine
It's not cheap, but the food is outstanding as is the choice of wines. The menu is interesting and the staff are outstanding and friendly. An added bonus is that some of the staff speak English

As the name suggests this restaurant is established in an old brewery. The interior is one with dark beams and tables placed in two rooms at both sides of the entrance. There also is an outside beergarden where drinks and food are served as well. It is a busy place, particularly in the weekends. The menu features a limited choice of dishes which are served in generous portions. Straightforward German cooking without being fanciful or modernistic. Good food in a pleasant atmosphere.

a fun place and a pub for the locals. Great place to meet and get a local feel for Bensheim. Food is served on large skewers hung over your table for a fun eating adventure. Good tasting food to. Local beers and they brew on-site so its a place to add to the must see list when travelling through BensheimHello mikemurray2009,thank you for the review. Hope to see you again, maybe this time at our BBQ-EventGreetings,your Burggraf-Team

This former antiques show room was changed some years ago to a restaurant and is tastefully and comfortably furnished and appointed. A very pleasant atmosphere but quite a large area and so for me, lacking in 'Gemütlichkeit' or intimacy which for most people may be irrelevant. The welcome is very warm and efficiently handled. There is a table d'hote menu together with the limited a la Carte menu. This limited menu is quite a good idea, allowing the kitchen to concentrate on doing a few dishes, but doing them well. We were a party of six and all were satisfied with quality and quantity of the meals. The one small complaint was that the House wine that was served had been sitting too long in an open bottle and so tasted oxidised. It was mentioned to a staff member but no response was forthcoming other than a rather negative frown. Finally, in my view, this is not a restaurant suitable for small children.

I am frequently in Germany for my business, and I learnt in the meantime some of German food tradition.Together with colleagues I have been recently at Blauer Aff.Very special restaurant from outside as well as inside. And this was already attractive. The dining rooms are different one from the other: I liked very much the idea of organizing an area inside like a summer dehor... brilliant and well designed. Other areas are more in the old tradition with stone walls, old farm tools...Also the food is in the local tradition, but there is the soft attempt also in searching and well contaminating from other nation food traditions.I like in general Tomato Soups as made in many restaurants in Germany. And it is quite normal for me to start dinner with it when available. So I did it as well at Blauer Aff. What an amazing surprise the Tomato Soup with Burrata and Basilikum! Great idea from the chef. It was delicate, but full of taste. Delicious. I enclose also the photo as I loved it, even if I know very well the picture is never really representative of the food experience.Take a dinner at the Blauer Aff and try their proposals. My colleagues had other dishes that they liked and also myself. But the tomato soup with burrata remains for me a Must-try-it!!!

The restaurant was perfect the service was incredible and the food I can't explain how good it was. The Lammfillet with a Krauterkrust ist incredible. If you have the time and stop by this restaurant do it. All the food was incredible and the town is very nice to.

I'm surprised there hadn't been a review on this little gem before. The restaurant is right by the Gernsheimer Ferry crossing the river Rhine. Sitting outside you can watch it coming and going as well as other boat traffic on the river.Food is local German cuisine. Good, tasty, decent portions. I was born in the area and taste is very much authentic. We sat in the beer garden outside on a summer day watching the sun going down. The place seem to attract a fair number of people, so was busy, but not crowded. It was a Monday. I had a nicely cooked Fährmann Schnitzel while my friend enjoyed a rump steak. It was rumpsteak monday. The menu has special items that change by the day. We also shared a portion of the local Handkäs. All nicely done and filling. The website says they have live music occasionally, not when we were there. I'd be very happy to go back there.
