The restaurant of hotel âBrücklwirtâ is also fairly popular as an eating-place. It comprises several rustic, cozy dining rooms and a couple of more classically decorated, but somewhat antiquated dining halls. The elegant permanent menu reveals that this place strives to be a classy restaurant. With respect to creativity of the dishes on offer, this aim is definitely achieved since the choice goes far beyond the classics of the Austrian cuisine. However, at least some of the dishes seem a little overprized. From Monday to Friday, there are also two menus of the day, the prices of which are all right for a restaurant of this standing.Since we had lunch there as a group of about a dozen, we had a cross section of dishes from the menus of the day as well as of dishes à la carte. For the most part, the food was fine though in general rather greasy. However, some incomprehensible choices by the chef spoilt the picture a bit. For instance, a sweet pepper soup would have been perfectly all right if it had been served without a full load of little pieces of ordinary bread on top. In contrast to croutons, they had not been toasted and did not fit into that kind of soup. A nice vegetable lasagna was spoilt by a large quantity of a superfluous stodge made up primarily of flour that was meant to be an herb sauce. The wait staff, on the other hand, provided an impeccable service and the waiting times, even for the dishes à la carte, were quite short.Dear guest, thank you very much for your detailed evaluation and for your visit in our restaurant. We are glade that you were satisfied with our meals apart from a few exceptions - sorry for that. Thank you very much for your nice words concerning our staff! We are looking forward to welcome you soon in our hotel!Best regards, your Brücklwirt team

Typical high standard Austrian Gasthaus. Some interesting twists to traditional food. A schnitzel stuffed with pesto and pumpkinseed and Austrian cheese. Delicious creamed pumpkin soup. We shared a steak tartare starter. Reliable usual local prices and to be recommended.

This review pertains not to Hotel âBohlersternâ as a whole, but solely to its restaurant, where hotel guests as well as all other customers are served. We went to eat there on a weekday evening. Most tables remained empty during out visit. We were seated in the main dining hall decorated with taste in a style that is both rustic and classic, without looking old-fashioned. The service matched the furniture and might also be called classic. Thick cloth napkins and huge underplates as well as very large, elegantly designed menus rendered this superior impression complete. This restaurant offers international cuisine with strong emphasis on Austrian and in particular on Styrian dishes. After having ordered we were served a basket of bread along with a creamy spread and a little later we received an amuse gueule consisting of small pieces of vegetables in aspic. Thus, âBohlersternâ appears to be ambitions and evidently strives to be a high-class restaurant. However, neither the appetizer nor the main courses, which arrived after a very reasonable delay, were convincing. They were definitely not bad, but lacked taste and did not justify their high prices at all.All in all, âBohlersternâ is a good restaurant, but with respect to its culinary performance it is markedly overpriced. This is a pity since we really enjoyed the great atmosphere and the excellent service it provides and spent a nice evening there.

The traditional house in the Old Town of Kapfenberg - here meets committed cuisine and a fascinating atmosphere each other . The main building dates from the 16th century and offers in 7 highly individual atmospheric spaces also very large companies to en
When entering âRestaurant Schickerâ, at first glance one has the impression to be in a shop rather than in a restaurant. The thing is that one has to go through a shop area and pass another door to reach the restaurant. It is nicely furnished in a somewhat rustic but nonetheless elegant style and is dominated by dark colored wood. The nice atmosphere created in this manner is unfortunately dented by the really uncomfortable, even tormenting wooden chairs. The permanent menu was sufficiently comprehensive to please everybody and included not only the usual classics but also several quite creative dishes. It was complemented by three dishes of the day and a business lunch. Service was excellent and professional. Although some of us had chosen dishes of the permanent menu the waiting time was absolutely reasonable. Most importantly, everything tasted fine and the size of the portions was fully satisfactory as well. Of course, âSchickerâ is not a cheap restaurant. However, prices were not excessive for a restaurant of this quality level and standing. Given also the friendliness of the staff we were satisfied by our lunch at âRestaurant Schickerâ.

Very popular destination above Kapfenburg and Brück an der Mur on the way up to Frauenberg. Ideal for casual eating although I am sure theocrats would use it for celebrations as well. A well designed Austrian chalet style building. Extremely well run local establishment. 46cm local sourdough open "bread sandwich" topped with various meats or trout. (See pic of "fleisch brot " with pork meat) Large choice of dishes on the menu. Very good prices. Large open terrace with beautiful views. Play area for children and various animals, goats, lamas, deer to look at. Wonderful walks from there around the mountains. One of the most popular restaurants in the area. Check the opening times. In winter only open Friday Saturday Sunday. One can drive up and there is ample parking. A good walk from Kapfenberg which would take about 2 hours taking it steady.

Ebner serves robust and delicious Austrian dishes in huge portions and prepared true to taste and hospitality. The mixed grill was big and fresh. The salad with Puten stripes equally nourishing - and the dessert cakes breathtaking. Everything with drinks at 35 ⬠is a bargain. The 7,20 ⬠set menu is beyond my understanding.

All former reviews of Baderhaus do not apply any more since everything has changed in the meantime. The former host (i.e. the âKaiserâ) is gone. He has opened a new restaurant in neighboring Kapfenberg, named âK.u.K. Restaurant Zum Kaiser Franz Josephâ, where he still dresses up as the emperor. Who is fond of traditional Viennese cuisine has to go there and might be deceived at Baderhaus. The current restaurant at Baderhaus is officially named âWeinerei im Baderhausâ. Although this name means wine bar in English, this place is still a full-blown restaurant as can be gathered from its menu. The latter is not comprehensive, but offers enough choice except for Vegetarians. From Tuesday to Friday a simple, mostly rustic dish of the day is available for very little money. Apart from that prices correspond to the average level of restaurants of this standing in the area. Cuisine is now rather international than Austrian. The interior of Baderhaus has been modified a little because the imperial decoration was also moved to Kapfenberg. But the bare brick walls have remained as they were and still create a pleasant atmosphere. The outside seating, spread over different levels, is perfect: separated from the river only by a street of almost no traffic.I came to âWeinerei im Baderhausâ for a late lunch. At that time service was provided by only one person, probably the head of the restaurant. Despite the limited number of guests present, he had difficulties to cope with the situation. So, service was rather sluggish. On the other hand, preparation of my lunch was quite fast even in view of the fact that I had opted for the dish of the day.My fish platter was pleasing to the eye, but did not fully satisfy the palate. While I liked the fried salmon fillet this was not at all the case for the fillet of the second kind of fish because it was dry and lacked flavor. The rice was overcooked to such an extent that it started to degenerate into a sticky tasteless paste. The accompanying leaf salad, however, was well dressed.
