Jump UBAHN to BOCHUM RATHAUS and you walk to BONGARDSTRASSE and you will see this wonderful brewpub. We walked in and were amazed at the wonderful old world interior, all wood and stained glass with a superb wood cask on the bar.The pub was bouncing and the atmosphere was superb. We opted for the MORITZ FIEGE PILS and the 0.5 glass at only â¬3.80c was superb. This was the best beer we had all day in Bochum and we went a lot of good pub's,but this could not be beat.Open every day and looking at the opening hours think it's open 11am till open end(last out). When we go back to Bochum this will be one of the first pubs we go,fantastic.

Top location with a lovely terrace very friendly service and an excellent menu consisting of light fish dishes and tasty meat dishes. Accompanied by a fresh beer or a good glass of wine definitely one of the best places in town.

I was supposed to meet friends here at 9 for a meal. Due to train problems I ended up 2 hours late. But this was no problem for the friendly helpful staff who served me my food anyway at 11 pm with no complaints and were very attentive. The food was tasty and cheered me up completely.

Besser geht man direkt zu Dönninghaus oder zum BratwurstHaus ins Bermuda3eck. Weder Wurst noch SoÃe schmecken. Hier kann man nur im Notfall essen.

A cool autumn evening brought us to this cozy candlelight corner restaurant adjacent to the Stadtpark Bochum (city park). The interior with its warm rustic style and soft candle glow soothed our chilled hands and red noses. We sat ourselves down at wooden table nestled to the window and pleasantly waited to be served. And we waited and waited and waited until the charm of the room faded. We were tempted to leave when our waitress finally arrived! I ordered the Riesenrad. To my amazement, a massive square plate filled with potatoes, salad and a still sizzling Schnitzel arrived. The mouthwatering meal flooded my senses with every bite! A hats off to the chef! Unfortunately, when it came time to settle the bill our waitresses suddenly disappeared! For ~20mins we waited for our magician to reappear before we got up to search for someone. Thankfully we didn't need to tear the place down as she miraculously appeared from behind the bar. In the end, it was a delightful meal with less than good service.TIP: The back room is more intimate for a romantic dinner.

Little bit old-fashioned, but pleasant atmosphere. Waiters looked extremely bored during the whole evening. In their eyes the look of "still not time to go home"? Starter and main plate were regarding taste ok, presentation was screaming for more attention. When we wanted to order a desert at 21.45 hr (!!!) we got the answer "sorry but our chef is already home and the kitchen is closed .... ". Who neglected his duties here? The chef? The waiter? Or management?

Was here as part of an international day in a nearby university. That they chose this place to entertain their guests from many countries in Europe and beyond is a good sign. We had a set menu which was good - homemade soup, two unusual quiches ( walnut and carrot I think ) and a nice chocolate cake dessert. Ambience was nice and the staff friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is in a nice green area of the city next to the Animal Park and âFossiliumâ. The inside matches the outside perfectly, large windows let in plenty of light and the décor is stylish but comfortable. As it is an Austrian restaurant we had the âWiener Schnitzelâ- a boneless breaded veal chop and âbackhendlâ. We thought that the âbackhendlâ was chicken â which it was - but it turned out to be 3 pieces of breaded deep fried chicken breasts. They were tender but tasteless and over prized. As side dish a potato salad with lambâs lettuce was served. The âWiener Schnitzelâ and the side dish were ok and we enjoyed the wine. Maybe the service was slow because we went for dinner on a Saturday evening.
