I went to the Alte Wache a couple of times. The staff is always very kind and attentive. There's a weekly changing menu which is always worth tasting. I can definitely recommend the spaghetti with prawns. Today I had an iced tomato soup - very good! For four stars the menu needs to be a little more exquisite - but definitely solid, consistent quality from the kitchen.

Small restaurant offering basic dishes at reasonable prices. Nothing exciting, though.Old-fashioned, worn interior. Not the most flexible kitchen. I had a plate of pasta, for instance, and the restaurant was unable to provide Parmesan or any other kind of cheese to go with it.

We have eaten at the Restaurant Burg Klopp for the last two nights. It is located in the castle Burg Klopp, an easy walk up the stairs from Bingen am Rhein or parking on site.It has a lovely view over the Rhine but the best parts are the food and service. The menu offers a range of tasty meals beautifully presented. Starters are around 10 euros and mains around 20 euros. For us it seemed very well priced for delicious meals. The wine recommended to us was local wine and again, exceptional quality and well priced. We felt welcome and comfortable and we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone travelling in the region. This is a new listing for restaurants but I notice the castle Burg Klopp is an attraction and reviewers mention the restaurant in their attraction reviews.

Welcome to Riverside Bingen, enjoy your time at the restaurant with tasty coffee or regional wine and our homemade cakes/pies. We also have a delicious menu (everything will be made fresh in our kitchen) from burger over salads to mediterrean meat and veg
Having had a long walk round Bingen, we came across the Riverside Restaurant, which overlooked the Rhine. We sat down inside, as there was a chilly wind. The waiter quickly brought the menus and gave us ample time to choose our snack, as there was a vast choice. We eventually decided on Mushrooms with a Wine Sauce, and Mushrooms stuffed with Tomato & Cheese. They were both scrumptious. We accompanied them with Colas, then had a coffee afterwards. Another place we would definitely revisit.

I used to LOVE this place, the food was always great, and the atmosphere even greater. Unfortunately things have changed under new Management. While most of the decorations remained, the menu has changed drastically, and the Service was not what it used to be. Ordered a Schnitzel with pan fried potatoes and a salad. The only thing that tasted good was the meat. I must say I was a bit disappointed and probably will not return.

Called here for lunch after noticing beautifully presented food being brought out to tables outside. We decided to eat a light lunch after a busy morning and chose pizza and homemade soups. The waiter was great and could speak good English which was a bonus as none of our party of 4 has more than a few words of German. The pizzas were huge and we definitely could have shared between two! The homemade tomato soup and the homemade mushroom soup was delicious and served with a small piece of toasted farmhouse bread. Coffee was good too. Will certainly return next time we are in the area. Prices were amazingly low for this town. Take a trip to the toilets .....you will walk through many beautiful rooms and passageways.

Great venue, walked off the Titan river cruise boat and straight into this lovely quaint restaurant. The staff were suitably dressed in Santa outfits and very pleasant with it as well. We were made very comfortable and the food was excellent and at a reasonable price for this time of the year. The Rüdesheim Kaffie is a must, trust me. Well done and Merry Christmas

Gutsausschank mit groÃem Restaurant in Bingen-Büdesheim
Spent a great spring evening at this typical German restaurant with its generous portions of everything, food and wine. The wine list is impressive with a large variety of wines mostly riesling and its burgunder (burgundy) whites. The schnitzels are huge and you can add a salad and fries if you're really hungry. Try some of the local starters with cheese in an onion flavoured dish. Very good.

My wife and I decided not to take the organized tour of the town offered by our river cruise company, so we took a short walk to this great restaurant I'd found on TA before our trip in mid-June. We were NOT disappointed. The schnitzel we ordered for dinner was far better that the same that was served on our cruise, was a larger serving, and came with fries and a nice salad- oh, the price was about $13 US. The staff was very professional as well as friendly. Our outside table near the alley was perfect for a relaxing evening in Rudesheim am Rhein- minus the tour groups. We noted at least six nearby tables resereved for dinner later on a Sunday night, so this place has a very good reputation. Our thanks to the nice people at Ratsstube who made our visit to their town so special. We highly recommend this restaurant.
