The main restaurant in this brewery is very comfortable and clean. We had Schweinebraten with Knodel and Bratendauce which was outstanding. My wife had some sort of porkhax which was a little tough and chewey but tasted very nice and spicey. Certainly can recommend this place for its ambiance,Food and beer. Service could be improved.

A taxi would have bee the way to go from our hotel near the trainstation. A cold winter evening with wind and rain. But the walk builds the appetite, which is a good thing to have. Best schnitzel in Bayern. Not made for tourist or Americans, but friendly. This place is a wonder on the inside, verygerman, with typical german families dinning and solo men drinking. Large portions, wonderful sides with a large menu. It was dark when we finished, We asked for a cab, they called one, no problem. Very reasonable prices.

This Bavarian brew house has a plentiful stylish indoor seating and even bigger Biergarten area in the back. The beers served are Manu choices of a less common but delightful Winkler (try the double Bock). The staff speaks some limited English so come prepared. German-only menu offers about 10 mentionable choices: we found the Wiener Art schnitzel one of the best we've EVER had, which was quite surprising. Even more, the French fries could easily outperform McD's.... The portions were XL, the salad served with complimented the meal very well. Consider the butter spätzle instead of fries and, here again, we were shocked to experience some of the best ever encountered. Well, overall, we conceded that this was one of the most tastiest Bavarian dinners in Germany. In Amberg out of all places. Cards accepted, cash preferred. If you are in Amberg and like Schnitzel, here you will be for a treat. I could have another one of those right now.

The house itself is a beautiful example of old Amberg. The meals are well prepared and delicious. They pride themselves on their service and seasonal specialities. Whether you dine inside in a cozy corner or outside in the lively square you will enjoy this exceptional restaurant.

This restaurant has been around for many years. Located right next to the Mariahilfberg church it is the perfect ending to a hilltop visit. The food is very good, fresh and seasonal. In nice weather, the wraparound terrace affords a beautiful view of Amberg and the surrounding area. The rooms inside are set up for groups or individuals. Try finishing their famous 'Windbeutel ' or cream puff.

The prices are reasonable and the place was filled with locals. Service was fast and friendly. There is no English menu but one of the waitresses spoke English. We had the wiener schnitzel, pumpkin soup and brat and brot. The schnitzel was over cooked and burned in places. If not for the burned schnitzel, I would have given them a higher rating. The beer of course was local, dark and good.

We visited Schon Kilian because we have found it at Michelin guide as âBib Gourmandâ tip. We stop there for early dinner around 5pm. It was at Tuesday and restaurant was completely empty which wasnât good for atmosphere. But even at this situation service was perfect and fast. Waiter helped us to translate menu to English and gave us some recommendations. Cold cucumber soup with Jacobâs mussel was awesome. Main dish (risotto) was ok. Dessert was also excellent â double creme brulee, one traditional vanilla one and second orange one. Local recommended wine was ok. If you are travel around itâs worth to stop there for lunch/dinner.

One of my very favorite restaurants in all of Germany. They serve the most amazing farm fresh food. Every time we were in the area this was a must do, the town is so beautiful, the people make you want to move there and the food was amazing.
