Hotel cum Restaurant , mostly frequented by locals and also Swiss customers who drive across the border to enjoy a reasonably priced meal.Service standards are good,but felt that the service staff were over worked, and we missed the usual charm that goes with a good restaurant.Quality of food was good and well presented.For desert I ordered some pancakes, unfortunately it was served cold , when it should have been at least lukewarm.Value for money.Thanks and kind regards Randolph Perera

We had been to this restaurant on 22 January, 2014. Our meal was inclusive of Salat and main course. We had meatloaf which was served with mash potato and vegetables. Portion wise was good and tasted delicious. The other main course was a Schnitzel a Swiss Local Speciality from that region. Both meals were cooked perfect. We also had a nice local Berneckker red wine. Good service and the Chief Chef who is also the Owner of the Restaurant came out to greet all the guests. The Restaurant provided excellent and friendly service. The Restraurant was cosy.

Tastefully decorated, good service and wine, food perfectly acceptable, but nothing special to make me return. Lots of competition in the region, which surpasses. Easily accessible if you don't want to drink and drive as the station is only seconds away.

We were invited in this Resturant by our swiss friend, the foods were absolutely great, the view was stunning and the service was very good. Steak and their special chicken were delicious but they didn't have English menu but it was Highly recommended.

Thanks to an advice I discovered this little gem in Oberriet, in which I could experience genuine hospitality and enjoy an excellent dinner. I sat in the ââGaststubeââ - an intimate dining room boasting a cozy and warm atmosphere. Huge thumbs-up to Kim (the owner lady) and Ramona (the waitress) for the truly friendly and professional service. The menu is kept short and puts focus on traditional dishes and seasonal produce. I started with a simple pumpkin soup - tasty and revigorating. As main course I chose the deer schnitzel served with all the trimmings. Excellent portion, nicely presented. As dessert I indulged myself with a carrot brownie served with yoghurt ice cream and dates compote. Very tasty, indeed.On the downside Switzerland is (unfortunately) known for its high price structure, and Zum Eintracht is no exception. The bill amounted to CHF95. Admittedly not to everyoneâs budget - but the great food and wonderful service are well worth it.

Eat there with some friends to celebrate a birthday. Staff was friendly and helpful!Unfortunately the food was pretty tasteless, not really seasoned and disappointingly "usual"!As we mentioned this to the waiter, they explained that this was done purposely so the actual food could be tasted. I could have that at home if I wanted to - much cheaper!

Who would believe such a good cook hid in Gais, Appenzell (15 Gault&Millau)? Try it when youâre around and youâll discover, for instance, outstanding and delicate raviolis - matchin the best you can find in Italy. Desserts are exquisite and the wine list impressive.Nevertheless, all meals are not that excellent...the duck was ordinary.

This was an amazing place i had a chance to be in, during my recent visit to Swiss. A good place where food is nice and the family serving the food is also very good. I started with the Grossmutter's Fladlisuppe which is also known as the Grandma's soup which was really nice. I liked it alot.For the mains we had Schweinsfilet-medaillon im Speckmantel Pommery-Sensfsauce, Gemuse und Nudeln which was something selected by my friend here. It was really really nice. To end it all I had green tea with Apfelchuechli mit Vanilleglace which was basically apple dish with vanilla ice cream. Overall had a very nice time here.

After many stays in Switzerland I came to trust the Swiss ââGilde Gourmetââ guide when looking for traditional restaurants with nice food and pleasant atmosphere. Grüntal is undoubtedly one of them - despite its not-so-glamourous location between the train station and an industrial area. The dining room is on the smaller size but boasts an intimate and relaxed feeling. Thumbs-up to Liliane for her efficient and professional service. During the dinner the chef also came out to greet the guests - much appreciated. The menu is short with focus on seasonal produce. As starter I had the spring salad with swordfish - delicate and tasty. As main course I chose the catch of the day, which was a duo of skrei (Norwegian cod) and trout served with a mushroom sauce: quite generous and tasty portion, the fish was very fresh. As sweet I indulged myself with a delicious sample of mango sorbet, mousse au chocolat, coconut ice cream, and orange sponge cake. Unfortunately Switzerland has always had a high price structure, even in the countryside. The (expensive) bill amounted to CHF91. Admittedly not to everyoneâs budget, but the excellent food and great service are well worth it.

We have been invited to stay at the Gupf for one night including aperitif, dinner and Monday Morning Breakfast (closed on Monday). Excellent food, best in class service with and a vine list that struck you. Vine cellar is breathtaking and a paradise for all vine lovers. And what is good food and superb vine without a good service? Would be nothing and this was the point of excellent... best in class service! Congrats!
