Reviews on Central American food in San Juan, Caribbean. The festive city of San Juan is the perfect place to experience true Puerto Rican culture. Get to know its roots by exploring the vibrant neighborhood of El Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan), which consists mostly of Spanish colonial buildings. Flesh out your self-guided history lesson with a visit to El Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th century citadel that’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then reward yourself with a cooling dip at Luquillo or Carolina Beach, then a tasty tour of the Bacardi rum plant.

Food is delicious but was hard to find. My gps kept putting me in front of the governorâs home. Luckily I popped my head in a random building with security and the gentleman there pointed me in the right direction. I donât think I would have found it if it wasnât for his help. So happy I found it, the stuffed avocado was unlike anything I ever had before-the crab and shrimp was perfect. Only critique, the tostones could be a little bigger. My whole trip I had tostones the size of my palm whereas these were the size of the bottom of a small soda can. The kids meals was delicious, my son was over chicken nuggets and order the steak which he devoured! That has never happen before so I know he loved it. Great service and staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. When they heard I had never tried ceviche, they gave me a larger serving. (It was quite good but HUGE.) There are only a handful of tables in the entire place, but don't let that discourage you. Great service and food.

Fun bar with the biggest tequila selection on the island. The best happy hour in Old San Juan. Great food and amazing staff. Come join us for some tequila and beer
Fun Cantina in Old San Juan. We were shopping and it started raining a little so we decided it was time for some lunch. You HAVE to have the nachos! I had the fish tacos, because like all food I have to have what I usually have... and they were VERY good... BUT my husband had the nachos with steak and THEY WERE SO GOOD! LIKE AMAZING! I never get nachos, but I would have a whole plate to myself next time!! I did more than my fair share of helping him finish them off!

The Parrot Club is a nuevo Latino bistro and bar in the SOFO area of Old San Juan on Fortaleza Street. The Parrot Club is a longtime favorite of locals and visitors who enjoy a fun, friendly atmosphere, delicious Latin flavors and wonderful cocktails.Esta
We were able to make our own mofongo... such a cool process. We used a wooden pedestal and bowl to smash, to taste, the rich butter/garlic sauce with fried plantains. The bar is extensive. We had the pina colada. It was thin and sweet. Oh my goodness the rice and peas were very moist. The chicken was flavorful and succulent. The staff was friendly and professional. The service was much more speedy than expected in the Caribbean.
