1h 23 minutes to have a simple glass of water. Fish of the day was probably of the day of last Christmas (it seems plastic) and the only taste was pepper. We wait 1 hour 30 to know that bread was finished. Unbelievable carelessness to the customers. Moreover the homarus lobster was actually only a lobsterOur friend was so hungry that she had a stomach pain but they didn't bring us anything, also if we asked many times

We had lunch and diner a Saturday at this place. The Rice and Beans is very tasty and at night they had a local calypso band playing live, plus some locals dancing which created a very fun and relaxing Caribbean environment

Excellent tasty food. Their speciality coconut sauce is amazing. We went two nights, loved everything. The shrimp and rice is delicious. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.

Reviewed at this Costa Rican website. Food is insanely good:
Oh man! Out of this world food! We dealt with Coral Reef twice - once for our wedding rehearsal dinner and once for the reception. Both times it was spectacular. The food was unforgettable all of the guests lost it over their coconut sauce. For the rehearsal dinner we had grilled pork steak and chicken with cabbage slaw and tortillas. Build your own tacos for the night was amazing - totally recommend this option for catering! For the reception they brought dinner to the Magellan Hotel - we were served whole red snapper (OMG) or chicken with coconut sauce. It was so good, I ate left overs around midnight. There were also rice and beans and salad to accompany. I could not have asked for better food, better service, or a more responsible caterer. 5 stars! You guys rock!

We came here for dinner and though the staff was friendly, they didn't really do their job.Three waiters for maybe 6 tables, when we arrived everyone had already eaten. It took them 25 minutes to get us the menu. Then after another 30 we went to the bar to order ourselves because no one would come and take our order. The food wasn't good - the hamburger bun was so hard that it reminded more of an old cookie than anything else. After eating, we waited for another half hour to then go and pay at the counter. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Something different in Cahuita... Enjoy the best coffee of the country, delicious deserts and smoothies, typical Costa Rican fresh and healthy just like our grandparents used to eat.
We stopped here on the way to the beach for lunch. Lovely chickpea salad, hummus and veg sticks. The waiter was really pleasant giving us cocoa beans in sugar and cinnamon. The smoothies are great too.Hello Nicole L,Thank you for your review, we appreciate it a lot. Its great to hear that you enjoyed the food and the service, we do our best every day! We hope you had a nice time in Costa Rica :) Pura vida!

We offer local and international cuisine, specializing in Seafood and Caribbean food. Our menu also includes pastas, vegetarian and typical Costa Rican food.
We chose here based on trip advisor reviews and weren't disappointed, we've come on to write the review straightaway we were so impressed. Food was really delicious, especially the chicken and rice and beans- very generous portions. I had a mojito and it was probably the best I've ever had! I watched the gentleman take a lot of time and effort making it. And that sums up the service, they really cared about us having a great time. They even came over with bruschetta on the house as well as a tasty mango rum shot thing at the end! We're travelling so trying to save money so dont aim to eat out every night.. but may have to make an exception for this place! (That said the price was very very very reasonable for what you get!)

Bar & restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily as well as late night plates until 2:30am. Nightly events such as live music, sporting events, open mic night, karaoke night, free salsa classes, and much more. In the heart of the town in front
There are so many choices in PV that itâs hard to recommend anything that is just average. The food was ok-nachos, burrito, quesadilla. Perhaps other items would have been more satisfying. Weâd been eating typical food for a week though so decided to try something different. The items were good but pretty bland. We added chicken to all three and it was very tasty but there were little bones that must have gotten chopped up with the chicken. Understandable but not very appetizing unfortunately.

Whether it be lunch and cocktails on the beach or candlelit dinner by the koi fish pond, Banana Azul's motto for our restaurant is 'Fresh & Simple.' We strive to only use fresh ingredients and try to stay away from processed foods. We also offer vegetaria
Hubby and I enjoyed dinner, and a take-out lunch, at Banana Azul in July when we rented a house nearby on Playa Negra Beach (reviewed separately) and it was recommended by the owners. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, great food, friendly service, free wifi, and reasonable prices. It also had a (free) locked and fenced parking area. We had sandwiches for lunch and for dinner, I had lasagna and hubby had mahi mahi. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meals. We also enjoyed the soup and salad buffet at dinner. The total bill for dinner was about $50 and they accepted credit cards. The gardens are lovely and we returned during the day to walk through and enjoy the grounds more fully in the daylight. We enjoyed the koi pond that stretches the length of the dining area with its many fish and turtles. The garden had beautiful paths, plants, and trees. The beach area also looked beautiful, although we didnât relax there. We recommend dining at Banana Azul and will return when we visit Puerto Viejo in the future!*Thank you for reading my review!
