We welcome you to Isla de Ometepe's Restaurante El Indio Viejo! Our family owned bar and restaurant is proud to serve the town of Moyogalpa, Nicaragua and Isla de Ometepe with artsy cuisine and fine selections of Nicaraguan beer and spirits. Socially and
Excelent restaurant. A must go in Ometepe island. Fine decoration and food. And the prices are low compared with the rest of the restaurants in mocygalpa.Thank you very much for your comment and for visiting us. We are happy that you liked our food. See you next time you come!
It is a very quiet place with a natural environment, and we offer traditional Nicaraguan food and vegetarian food, wifi service
We went there as we wanted to support the locals, everything is made from scratch and they have a huge selection on their menu. The prices are super cheap, the food is typical Nicaraguan.
American comfort food, homemade daily. Soups, Breakfast burritos, smoothies, fresh squeezed juices, stirfry. Breakfast served ALL DAY! Vegetarian friendly. Vegan upon request. Good vibes, good food, good music and even games. Come join us at El Encuentro.

Our services are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our rancho style restaurant and bar area is just in front of the lake, on the shade of tropical trees. Fried fresh fish, meat, chicken, pasta, pork; as well as salads, sandwich, and starter dishes. Fo
Caballitis Mar is located right on the lake nicaragua in the town of Merida which is slightly southwest on the island. It has the best views of sunset I have ever seen and I have been in safaris in Africa. The owner Fernando is truly relaxed and hospitable and all of the staff are simply amazing. After a day kayaking (this is the best place to go kayaking on the island) try having a sundowner at Caballitos Mar - brilliant!!!There are only about 5 rooms here and 2 private rooms with bathroom - so you must book well in advance. I went for 4 days and stayed 10. This is a really simple place for those looking to live close to nature - it is not luxury - there is the sound of the birds and lizards and other wild life. The best secret of all is the restaurant! Fresh fish caught daily is served here and the chef makes her own pasta!!!
Great find, we hired scooters to explore Ometepe and came across this place. We each had a fruit smoothie, which was lovely and refreshing. It is located right by the water with a view of the San Jose ferry and there is parking for bikes.

One of the best places to eat in Moyogalpa. We loved the fajitas and the prices. Definitely good service as well. Will come back.
Just at the entrance of the village of Altagracia, you will find this small bar/ restaurant. The owner Pacino welcome you with a big smile. The food is great. Donât miss the ceviche as an appetiser. The price are moderate for this Island. The music is also good.
My husband and I were looking for somewhere to eat and have a drink. I looked online and saw this place had great reviews. We ordered chicken nachos and tacos. The food was horrible. All the chicken tasted freezer burned and had no seasoning. The tortillas were tough and rubbery. I canât believe the high reviews the other people gave. Maybe it was just the luck of the draw for us.

Argentinian grill, homemade pasta, vegetarian and vegan, grilled whole lake fish. We make our own bread, tofu, sauces, munchies, etc. organic cofee, iced cofee. spoken english. Cocktails, Argentine and Chilean wines, national beers, natural fruit smoothie
We probably ordered the wrong things at this Argentinean restaurant, but we had a homemade ravioli bolognese and hamburger. The ravioli sauce was fine but the paste was soggy and overdone, reminded me of boiled dumplings or perogis. And the hamburger - the house made bread bun was too thick and the stuff inside was kind of dry. If this was half the price we payed, itâd be like - ok fine whatever, but because this was most expensive meal weâve had on Ometepe we had higher expectations for the price. Perhaps the quality of ingredients used are of high quality in the dishes we ordered, but the cooking style did not reflect that.

El Picante provides delicious Mexican cuisine and great service. Located 70 meters from Moyogalpa dock. Best place to eat when coming to Ometepe Island or catching your ferry back to the main land. Enjoy spicy or mild nachos, fajitas, quesadillas, and mor
Unfortunately this place promises Mexican food, but at most it could be considered some pale version of TexMex. The food is definitely eatable, but very overpriced. The owner/guy that works there is very sweet though. Dear unsatisfied customer,Sorry for last night experience @ El Picante.But.. couldn't wait couple hours to write the review!!I Since I received it few hours later of you leaving my place.Hopefully you slept better after taking your frustration off your chest.First, you complained to me that your cheese quesadillas didn't have vegetables, which I apologized to you and brought you vegetables. When I returned to your table to ask you if everything was ok, you said yes.I admit that we are not perfect here, I always listen to comments from my customers specially face to face and try to improve the quality of our food.Been running this Restaurant more than 10 years. If you don't think it's Mexican, I am sure by reading the reviews, 90% think it is. When people says that everything is good( as you did) and couple hours later criticized you, I found it very add especially knowing Netherlands people which are always straight forward. We offer the menu as soon as you enter the Restaurant, not when we hand you the check. If you think we are overpriced, please hand the menu back to us and walk away. We never changed to look at the menu. Our prices ranges from $ 3 - $7 max.Your Cheese quesadilla and chicken quesadilla for the person you were with plus 2 drinks came up to $ 13.3.And this included a fee chips&psalsa before your meal.Coming from Europe, I have a hard time understanding your observation of beeing overpriced. You can always grab a bite on the street for around $3 but may ( not always) spend few days laying in bed while paying extras days at your hotel. The choice is your.Good luck finding Authentic Mexican Restaurant on Ometepe Island.
