Find out what Caucasian restaurants to try in St. Petersburg. Frequently referred to as the "Venice of the North," almost every palace and state building in this grand city was constructed by an Italian architect. Saint Petersburg is Russia's most westernized city, with no ancient history, it looks very contemporary - just as it was meant to be when Peter the Great founded it in 1701. Some say that living in this "northern capital" is like living in a museum.

Our restaurant is situated in the Moscow district. In a 10-minute drive from the airport. You can relax after your journey or spend time before your flight here. The menu of the restaurant "Dvor Pomidor" will please you its variety and surprise its author
We went here because of the rating on TripAdvisor. Its in a big shopping mall. We got a table at the window with view on the escalator. A place like in a fastfood restaurant. Inside it looked better. The menu card was very easy with photos. The food was splendid. The waitress very kind. But I can't recommend it for a no e diner. Its more for families with kids.

When in Russia we tend to eat Georgian food because it is very tasty and less fat than Russian specialties--lots of herbs, spices, aubergines, peppers. Mamalyga was recommended to us by our hotel concierge and it did not disappoint since we ate there on four occasions. The restaurant is behind Our Lady of Kazan at the corner of Leninskaya and Kazanskaya streets and has a beautiful view of the cathedral. The food was very good and--added bonus--we were the only foreigners. The waiters are extremely pleasant, particularly Yuri who was so honest as to tell us service was included though I had left a tip (and left it to thank him for this seldom encountered kindness). It is best to sit in the corner room next to the window and the view over Our Lady of Kazan.

A funny restaurant located outside the city center near a metro station. Very interesting interior, extensive list, good service. Menu is a combination of caucasian, russian and european dishes. Not the cheapest option in this neighbourhood, but definately worth the money. Larisuvannukhochu is part of a large restaurant chain called Ginza Project. The place is very full in the evenings, so a table should be reserved beforehand.
