We were recommended by our host to check out Princess take out by the home we rented. We were not disappointed. The cracked conch was amazing. Josephine, the cook, makes her own fried batter, it was so delicious and I wish I had more right now! We also met with Captain Nat who's the fisherman for the restaurant. We went fishing with him and brought back many fishes including a barracuda. We brought it back to the restaurant so Josephine could cook it for us. It was amazing! Overall it was a great experience and Josephine and Captain Nat were really welcoming. We must've eaten there 3 or 4 times. We will definitely go back there again!

Frank's Cafe

Reviewed By nh7

We stayed on North Caicos the last week in February. We rented a wonderful house and had great accommodations. The owner's booklet had all of the regularly reviewed restaurants and bars but towards the end of the recommendations was "Frank's the best conch chowder on the island, they even make it spicy". We were getting to the end of our week and we were yet to find a decent conch chowder on the island. So we decided to give it a shot. So you drive through Bottle Creek towards Middle Caicos and on the right hand side there is a white sign with hand painted Frank's (in black). We were a little apprehensive when we saw the outside and the driveway was a little rustic as are most of the side roads on North Caicos. Walking in to the restaurant, there are a few individual tables and one very long table on the left and a wooden bar on the right. All tables have a yellow tablecloth on them. The walls are a light brown and everything else in dark (wood) brown. Not the most elegant decor especially with the re-bar in front of the windows. But the breezes coming through the open windows were nice and refreshing. There also is a nice picture of Frank (the founder and Father) on a corner table draped in lace as a reminder of who's recipes are being used. He passed on six years back but the picture is a constant reminder of his presence. We were the only guests throughout the meal. Sherry, greeted us and was very pleasant. We explained we were there for the conch chowder. Unfortunately, we didn't know, that you have to order ahead and she informed us that she did not have any available. At that point, we asked what else was available and she said how about some cracked conch or fish fingers, so we said what the heck and stayed. As soon as she went back to the kitchen we started to hear the conch shells being hammered and knew from then on that the conch was going to be fresh. Anyways, after 10 minutes, she re-appeared with two plates, one being battered conch and the other battered fish. Again, we were a little anxious as we are not prolific batter fried food consumers. Ladies and Gentlemen that was the BEST seafood on the island. The batter was light and airy and the conch as tender as can be. The fish was to die for, flaky and perfectly cooked. Accompanied by a very nice coleslaw with raisins and a nice molded serving of rice and beans. She does not serve booze so we ended up with a couple of waters. We devoured our dishes and couldn't believe how good it was.The entire trip back to the rented house all we could do was rave about the food. We just couldn't stop talking about it. Back at the house we just looked at each other and said we have to try the conch chowder and conch salad. So, I called and said we would be there for lunch the next day and we wanted the conch chowder, conch salad and a plate of the fish (forget the coleslaw and rice). We arrived for lunch the following day, our table was already set and Sherry (smiling non stop) greeted us again. This time within minutes, the conch chowder and conch salad were on the table. OMG, the conch chowder had a little kick to it and the broth was so full of flavor and slightly thick. The conch was like butter, tender, full of flavor and just delightful. The conch salad had a little more spice than the chowder and was just excellent. Then came the plate of fish. Just like the previous day, to die for!! This time a couple of locals came in for orders to go which was good to see. Sherry explained that the conch she gets is fresh from the beach, the conch on Provo is mostly farmed and fed supplements therefore making it more rubbery. I can vouch for the difference. Also, she explains that on Friday nights they have a whole fish fry, with local pig's tail and all the trimmings. Apparently, a popular stop for the locals each Friday night. You can't let the decor put you off. The food is the best we sampled on North Caicos. I am just so sorry we didn't try Frank's earlier in the week. Sherry (and your Mom), thank you and we will be back next year as soon as we get off the ferry. We will make sure to call ahead the day before so we can experience the wonderful food.

The Barracuda Beach Bar is a three-table restaurant and bar located inside the Pelican Beach Hotel, right on the beach. It's an outside palapa and they cook to order at their outdoor grill and there's a bar as well.

I waited four days to have the take out goat (it is only served on Thursday) and the anticipation was not disappointed. Best goat I had (and I always try it when available). Sasha was super friendly and prepared take out steamed veggies (cabbage, carrots and onions), beans and rice for my vegetarian partner. The only bad remarks is that she charged us the same price for my boyfriend veggie meal as for my goat meal.

Last Chance Bar & Grill

A waterfront restaurant overlooking the ocean and out islands. Offering lunch, dinners and late afternoon Happy Hours.

Reviewed By Peaco T

We had a wonderful dinner here, overlooking beautiful Bottle Creek (really a wide ocean inlet). The restaurant has clean lines, comfortable seating inside and out, and a colorful, friendly husband and wife team who take excellent care of their guests. Because we'd eaten fish almost exclusively during our previous dinners on the island we opted for the steak, and it might have been the best we'd ever had. And the view is, as everyone says, breathtaking. It's well worth a visit. The restaurant is open every evening for dinner, I believe, but I think like other high-end restaurants on the island, reservations are necessary. An evening at the Last Chance is sure to be a most memorable, and satisfying, one.

The food was local, fresh and delicious. We also had a great time with music by Lovey Forbes - what a friendly, warm fellow with his great musical stories.
