We went to hotel florita for lunch recently, I had read great reviews about their food and drinks so had high expectations. I was completely let down, yes the hotel is charming and the street is old worldly and great for photography, but the restaurant was not at all up to standard. We waited over an hour for our food, when it finally arrived we waited another 15 minutes for rice that was missing from our order. The food was expensive around $50 for two lunches and two drinks. My sparkling water was $5, unbelievable. The waitresses were doing their best but there were many people complaining about the service, and the kitchen was no where to be seen, but as we sat outside we saw waitresses bringing food from out across the street which was shocking. I would not recommend for lunch or dinner.

On a terrace overlooking a beautiful and secluded cove this could not be a nicer place to eat. A small number of tables are shaded and the service is very attentive and friendly. It is a small place and the menu is also small which is usually a good sign. They serve local beer -Prestige - and decent wines. The fish was very good but the grilled lobster was outstanding and fantastic value for money. We had the lobster three times. It is well worth a visit to Jacmel just to eat here!
