All of their pizza's are great. We have tried them all.The magic mushroom pizza is probably the best pizza. Seating is not the greatest but you go to this restaurant for the atmosphere. They have a second location in Chelsea, which we have also tried.

A bit of a rowdy hole some nights, but patrons love music, so it's usually civilized. It is the renowned spot in the area for some great return acts, so avid patrons keep on their email list.

Being totally relaxed in the beautiful little village of Wakefield made it hard to make a decision as to what to have for lunch. The four of us stopped in front of a pub on the waterfront, and since the fellows wanted a beer, and the girls wanted a patio, in we went. It was an unusual arrangement in that the pub side served the alcohol and the restaurant side the entrees, with two separate bills, but this did not diminish the quality of food that was served. I am told the pulled pork poutine was amazing, and the chicken chef's salad that I had was very tasty, too. The vegetables were chopped very finely, as was the chicken, and the mustard dressing was just right. The view from the patio of the Gatineau River was beautiful. This is not a fancy place, but very nice for a quick lunch.

There were three in our party. We enjoyed the nachos and chicken wings. They have a nice selection of beers from local and international breweries. The view from the patio (mostly shaded by mid-afternoon) is delightful with vistas up and down the Gatineau River. A great way to end our day in Wakefield. The servers are bilingual, friendly and attentive.

Heathly Home Cooked meals in a tranquil setting, overlooking the Gatineau River.
Usually packed, the wait staff is always helpful and efficient. Today, the server took our orders right away but we literally waited an hour before deciding to ask if weâd been forgotten. Several tables got their orders before us. The server went to ask, but didnât return with an answer. I had to ask her a second time, and she said the manager was in the kitchen taking care of it. Fifteen minutes later (15) we still had no plates (eggs, bacon an omelette- nothing fancy) and no apology, no explanation. Other tables we getting theirs. Not sure what happened but the kitchen staff looked confused and were certainly not helpful in reassuring us. Although often long waits were forgotten about in the past, the way this one was handled (not at all) really disappointed us. We wonât be back.

Good drinks. Good food. Pretty good times. The locals' pub, serving Comfort Food 11-9 everyday, with live music at least 4 nights a week.
My friends and I have been getting together at the 1870 for lunch for years now. The food is always tasty and the beer is always cold. The same gentleman has been serving us in all this time, and he's always been pleasant and helpful. They do have live music in the evenings, but I'm only there for lunch. His name is Tom, too. :)Thank you for taking the time to review us.

Sitting on the outside balcony relaxing with an iced tea is the perfect way to start a very good summer lunch. I began with the steamed mussels, perfectly cooked with a delicious cream sauce, followed by the shrimp linguini, also in a very flavorful sauce. I concluded with a refreshing mango sorbet. My wife also enjoyed her lamb burger and chocolate mousse. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Looking forward to returning again before the summer is over. Lunch was followed by a pleasant and leisurely walk on the River walk which meanders through the town of Wakefield with antique shops and art galeries. Some parts have been upgraded to a boardwalk.

Perched over the MacLaren falls, our two restaurants offer dramatic views and a true gastronomic experience with menus based on a traditional French and Quebecois style, using local produce with exciting international influences.Muse, our fine dining rest
We enjoyed our seat by the window overlooking the floodlit falls. The waiter recommended the perfect wine to complement our dinner. We loved the little extras that made the meal special - homemade butter, amuse-gueules, and palate cleansers. The chocolate dessert tasted a bit too sweet and not quite chocolatey enough - but it was still very good. All in all a great meal.Thank you, VinnyG;, for your delicious description and for letting us know of your enjoyment dining in Muse. We're delighted that the evening was captivating against the backdrop of the falls. Our very best wishes.

Six of us for brunch on a bustling August long weekend and the food was terrific and the service even better. Not a dud plate which included eggs benny, Portuguese soup, moulds et frites, smoked salmon , veggie burger and outstanding coffee. The place was full with a lineup to get in but the service and turn around in the kitchen was exemplary. Lovely patio overlooking the Gatineau river.Prices very reasonable.

Rustic charm in the heart of Wakefield Village. We are a small 26 seat restaurant, with an outdoor patio that seats another 20. Our restaurant serves upscale comfort food, great wines and local brews. All while dining with views of the Gatineau River and
Started with cold fennel and broccoli soup then melt in your mouth short ribs with spaetzle and carrots with au jus that begged for mashed potatoes. Partner enjoyed roast pork loin. Welcome was warm. Service was excellent. Patio setting was somewhat rustic - I am not fan of benches with a pillow. Overall, a lovely evening.
