Probably the best Canadian Style Chinese food in South West Nova. The restaurant inside is dark and could use some TLC but do not let the stop you if you like Chinese food. What this restaurant lacks in decor and ambiance it makes up for with their food.

Arriving in Shelburne for a long weekend to celebrate my birthday, we decided to take back pizza to our cottage. We don't get takeaway pizza very often anymore, so we were looking forward to this, especially after having read the reviews here. Well, I was really disappointed. Maybe my standards for pizza are a little higher than most, especially as we often make our own pizza at home using quality ingredients, but even compared with other takeaway pizzas I've had this fell very short in terms of quality. Everything on it tasted cheap and processed. It actually made me feel quite ill. I wish we'd just bought a frozen pizza from Sobeys. We could have eaten much better, much cheaper.

We were directed to Sophia's by two regulars who work the counter at Tim Hortons. You know at first glance that city slickers like us aren't the typical customers. Someone collects gingerbread people and has decorated every surface with them. Fake Christmas greenery appears to be a year-round motif, with plastic flowers added for spring. What's served here is not just comfort food but an authentic local experience. And oh, that chowder--generously scattered with seafood, made in the traditional way with no herbs or bacon chunks and plenty of cream. A medium serving should satisfy all but the hungriest eaters, although I managed all but a drop or two of the large because it was so good.

I just visited with my family of four. The crumbed fish was delicious- freshly made, light, and crunchy. We also got some pieces of fish battered, which was very doughy. I would definitely get the crumbed fish next time. There only seemed to be one lady working when we visited, thankfully it wasn't too busy so we only had to wait 10 or so minutes for the lady to batter and fry the fish. There were also two small tables to sit at- a nice getaway from the rain outside. If passing shelburne again, we will be back!

Seasonal waterside restaurant offering seafood, sandwiches, burgers, salads etc
The atmosphere and service in this restaurant was excellent. Lots of intricately carved birds line the shelves and it overlooks the water. We all ordered a seafood dish and sadly it was not what we expected. Batter contained corn meal which looked undercooked even though the fish was cooked. It did not taste fresh. Clams were a bit chewy, but scallops and pan fried fish were good. They did replace my haddock with pan fried and it was okay.

For years, the Sea Dog has been the favourite gathering place for family dining, fresh sea food and a great time for all. You won't find seafood any fresher! Join us this summer and enjoy a menu complete with classics and specials fish and chips is a grea
Good food, ârelaxedâ service (like eating at Moms), and beautiful scenery! They only had one server working for a portion of the afternoon and she was run off her feet. Good selection of local craft beers and seafood dishes...something for everyone, even if they donât like seafood. They do have childrenâs meals on the menu.

Come taste an appetizing meal at Scotia Lunch. They are open after-hours from Monday to Friday and are readily accessible by car. They are positioned in a surrounding packed with parks. Payments by American Express, MasterCard and Visa are recognized.
This is a great place to go to have a quick snack, a coffee, lunch or supper. It's a full service restaurant..not big on ambiance but great for taste, quality and value. I've always had the best of fish dishes here, whether it's chowder or fillets, always fresh and delicious. Hamburgers, pizza, chicken and hot sandwiches all made from fresh and served with a smile. I know I can always get a good meal here.

Stopped in today at the BeanDock for my morning coffee on the way to work. Love this little coffee shop. The staff are always super friendly.

Lovely little eatery in historic Shelburne. We were warmly greeted upon entry and had our choice of tables as we came early. The place began to fill at 6pm or so.This is a small place with a few booths and maybe 6 or 7 tables. We both had caesar salads which came with a healthy dose of garlic ...yum! I had their halibut and bacon chowder and my husband had haddock bits and chips. The chowder was delicious. The haddock was coated in panko flakes so the breading was both light tasting and crispy. The fries were home made.Service was friendly and efficient.

The reviews do not lie, this a fabulous little cafe (cafe does not do this place justice, if so, restaurants are doing something very wrong!), entrance is through the craft shop and only has about 9 tables (booking is essential, our innkeeper phoned about 3.30 and they could only get us in at 8 (their last seating). The port tenderloin in mushroom creamy sauce, exquisite, my partner had the chicken stuffed with Camembert, no complaints, decent portions but found room for a pud to share, not cheap but very worth it. Good luck to you.
