Service was good. Caesar Salad was delicious. But then the scallops came...awful. Chewy, overcooked, tasteless...so we sent them back. Next batch, a bit better, but not much, and for $20.00 ridiculous. Pork Tenderloin was delicious as were the vegetables. Overall, not bad, but definite room for improvement.

We recently stopped in for a beer with friends and ordered natchos as an appy to share with four of us. However, when the natchoes arrived it was barely enough for one person. Pictures to follow. They tasted great, but we were disappointed with the size and mentioned to the server that she should tell customers that it is an individual serving size. The restaurant has a beautiful setting, but we left quite disappointed. How expensive are a few extra chips on the plate? Especially for $13.50. Our Nachos have recently been re vamped and are a smaller (yet more delicious) portion under the appy section of our menu. In this transition from our nachos in years past we will make sure as per your suggestion that the servers let our customers know. Thank you for your comments.

Most small- town pubs are about the same: clean, slightly tired furniture, limited choices for draft beer, very limited wine list, average food. The variation comes in the wait staff and the size of the menu. And maybe the restrooms. This place stands up pretty well. Venue, decor, menu, all average. Restrooms better than average. Waitress way better, but we were the only five in the room. Food better than average, especially the special, which was 'buy fish and chips and get a second one for half price'. Now, THAT"S a special, and my wife and I had it. Very good. The three others said their choices were good, so I think you're safe with anything. Several good beers on tap. Forget the wine list.

Quadra's Southend Farm Winery is unique. A tiny rustic wine cellar offers shady picnic tables... and long-table seating behind the cellar. Tasting is free. Three wines and a bubbly were available during our visit. By far the most palatable is The Acacia, (Petit Milo). It's a complex, fruit-driven, floral white, wooded in acacia barrels. Quite delicious... and we enjoyed sipping by the glass during our picnic there. At $5 / glass it's a steal.Wine bottles have a Lightning Stopper (flip-top) and a tag instead of a label, both to facilitate recycling. Wine enthusiasts may initially find the use of bottles traditionally used for European beers a little unsettling; but the chilled Acacia itself is an enjoyable, clean refreshing drop, akin to a complex Sauvignon Blanc. (Perfect with Snapper Provencal, we later discovered!)South End Farm Winery is accessible by bicycle, if you're fit. Much of the ride there is uphill. Our route took us along Green Road to WeWay to Mudge to Sutil. If you decide to return to the ferry terminal mainly via Mudge Road instead, be warned that at the moment, it's blue-metal gravel with an often unstable verge... and dust of passing vehicles may cause discomfort. A kerchief (or dust mask) would be advisable!

Did a weekday early season and totally enjoyed the peace and excellent service. It reflects the beauty of the natural setting complete with eagles, whales, mountain vistas and magnificent forests. The management and staff have come a long ways from previous years to make this resort a truly great destination. We shall return.

Eat Out or eat on our beautiful deck overlooking the picturesque Quathiaski Cove. Fresh Local Fish and Chips, Halibut and Lingcod, Fish Tacos, Chowder and Salads Local Oysters, and other seasonal seafood specials
We spent a week on quadra as we arrived from the ferry we saw a fish tacos sign and it immediately peaked our interest. A few days into our trip we journeyed back down to the ferry dock to give it a try and we were not disappointed. Best fish tacos we've ever had very fresh and simple ingredients..and in a world where everyone claims to have the best fish and chips I can honestly tell you most places won't even hold a candle to the fresh fish and homemade fries you get here. Although it is a walk up window/ take out set up the wonderful lady behind the counter made sure to pop out and say hello and welcome us to quadra and offer some advice about what to see and do while there. We will definitely be adding coveside to our annual list of places to visit while exploring vancouver island.

Lovin' Oven is a family owned and operated restaurant catering to the locals of the island. Clean, fresh, and simple is the key to our "made from scratch" breads, desserts, pizza dough, sauce, and even the salad dressings. Breakfasts, daily soup, and spec
I have been eating lunch here occasionally since 2000 and it's a typical down-to-earth Canadian small-town restaurant as you can find in every one of Canada's many thousands of small towns. I had the lunch special which was egg salad sandwich and chicken soup. The chicken soup was superb, lots of large chunks of breast-meat chicken in it, and fresh vegetables galore. The egg salad was fresh, plentiful, and tasty in wholesome multi-grain vegetable-bread baked on the premises. Cost was $12.50. Service was fast, friendly, and the place was not crowded but, as usual, was about half-full. Nice one Lovin Oven.

We went late at 3pm for lunch and the two ladies were so accommodating . The food is so delicious .We ordered lentil curry soup and a grilled sandwich to share and they were so obliging in just splitting one order .The menu is ample and if we had time we would definitely have gone back again to try more of their amazing cuisine .The two ladies working on friday could not have been nicer if they had tried .I strongly recommend Kameleon to anyone who visits Quadra .
