Family was starving after visiting the gardens and Buchartsârestaurant looked like a cafeteria so we drove a couple miles down the street to this pub and it was perfect for our needs. Beers for the Dads And good pub food for the others. Their special of the day Lamb burger was outstanding and we all left happy. Special kudos to Kirsten who was patient and attentive. Brought food for the kids right get away and keep the grownups happy, too.

I've visited this place several times now, and have never really left disappointed. Sometimes a bit underwhelmed, based on what I ordered, but never really feeling like I'd had a bad time. That was the same feeling the last time I went, when I ordered the perogies with seafood chowder.Everything was fine! Nothing spectacular, but completely serviceable. On the other hand, the burgers are terrific. I really like the Tuxedo burger, and paired with a good beer it's really everything you want from a neighbourhood pub. Even though it can get really busy there's a lot of seating and a good choice of drinks. Recommended!

This diner is on the road to Butchart Gardens so it is convenient if you are headed that way. The food was very good and we enjoyed our lunch. Our server was friendly and the restaurant was not crowded. Restaurants at Butchart Gardens are crowded and expensive, so this is a really good alternate choice. Definitely recommended.Thank you for reviewing us. We enjoy serving tourists to our beautiful part of the world and are pleased that you came in to enjoy a meal.

On our second trip to Victoria in three days, we decided to take the Brentwood Ferry home. We were planning on lunch before getting on but when we arrived, it was about 20 minutes before boarding. HA! We thought. Silly us. This ferry holds 20 cars and we were number 23. It would be a little over an hour before the next one. We get out of the car and Don looks over the edge of the ramp and discovers this cute restaurant below. Off we go!When we arrived, we told them we only had about 45 minutes or so before the ferry.Ella took our order and returned. Our server, Ella, is really an asset to this establishment. Smiles, knowledge and it was a real treat for us.Don ordered his beer and a cup of seafood chowder. He all but licked the cup and said how wonderful it was. It really was as I tasted it as well. He also had a slice of focaccia bread with it. Great combo.I, on the other hand, opted for the 1/2 Caesar salad and a glass of Pinot Grigio. Let me tell you, with only one exception ever, this was the best Caesar salad I have ever consumed in a restaurant.. It was perfect. Not too acidic, not too garlicky. Then, of course, I asked about dessert. I mean after all, day out, long drive aheadâ¦.in I go. I chose the Belgian Brownie. OMG! It comes out warm, with whipped cream (Don gave me his share of the cream). I cut it in two and we absolutely devoured it.Soâ¦be sure you just miss the ferry and go down here and eat. Better yet, just park your car on the ramp and come down. So worth it.

It's rustic and beaten down, but that's okay. The food is straight-up enjoyable and the atmosphere is fun and enjoyable.

My husband and I loved this place. He got the burger and fries, and I got the sandwich. The sandwich was definitely enough to fill me up and was delicious! The service was great as well and quick.

We came here for breakfast. There's a complete cross section from families to groups of local council workers stepping in at the start of their day and most people seem to know eachother. It has a nice relaxed athmosphere and food is entirely fresh and the server was happy to explain the menu (a few items were lost in translation from English to English ;-)). Well work going.

We spent the morning strolling through these amazing gardens and parkland in glorious sunshine. Then found our way to the Dining Room and our reservation for afternoon tea. A tradition brought by the Europeans and now part of the established tourist trade in Victoria, afternoon tea is a very special treat. We sat in an elegant room, not surprisingly amongst beautiful flower arrangements and were invited to choose from a selection of tees, everything from English Breakfast to Lemongrass and ginger, all leaf teas poured through a heavy tea strainer. Unusually we started with trifle, something that we English people would served at the end of a meal. The set menu continued with a three tiered cake stand of mini treats - the best sausage roll ever and mini quiche with dill. Sandwiches, scone with jam and cream plus little cakes - my favourite being the lemon tart. Highly recommended and although not cheap, its half the price of other more famous named hotels!

The Satellite Bar & Grille at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club is located in the seaside community of Cobble Hill, amongst some of Vancouver Islandâs finest wineries and the Cowichan Valleyâs only Cidery. Arbutus Ridge is a 40-minute drive north from Victoria and
Thirteen of us who live locally and have known each other for a long time. Wonderful setting with views across the golf course to the sea, Saltspring Island and the coastal mountains. Mount Baker can be seen from the deck and the sunset is spectacular. We had wonderful service from Sarina and her coworkers who treated us above and beyond...! The menu was a mixture of burgers and salads, and some interesting main dishes with monthly specialities. The chowder was excellent. Wines add to the cost, of course but not to expensive and a reasonable selectoin of these and ales. Desserts , I was told were good. Although the kitchen closed around 8.00 pm we were not pushed to leave and sat with coffee and good conversation until close to 9.0 pm. Main course all seemed to be less than 20 dollars which seems to be excellent pricing for a great evening with friends.Thank you for the detailed review. We appreciate the time you took to offer your feedback!
